  • WOW my nan makes that, until she became uncapable, thanks for this, why are nans always great cooks? hah

  • suet is veg fat or animal fat, Dont use water, milk is better, and dont bake it, your ment to steam is for 2 hours. but thanks for the post anyways.

  • Great recipe, only problem is people in America cooking electric wont know what gas mark 6 is, any chance of letting us know the temperature is, if possible can you F, rather than C, either way please say which you have used so that we can convert it if necessary. Look forward to trying it though :)

  • @crushed51 gas mark 6 i think is about 160 degrees centigrade bud

  • The only "Suet" that is available here in the US is used for bird food, not for human consumption, is there anything else I can use instead of "Suet" ?.

  • kneading works the other way with suet paste causing a dense and chewy sponge you should handle as little as possible

  • im sure if you needed it a bit more then it would of puffed up more :)

  • what is that clicking noise its sooo anoying spoiling the show

  • Cool.I was going to ask you if you could do a vid on how to make short crust pastry as i really want to learn how to make my own rather than buy pre packet stuff :)

  • Shortcrust pastry is fairly easy to make, I will down load a vid in the next few weeks. This will probably save you some money as bought pastry is more expensive than home made.

  • I wll be posting a vid of jam tarts using short crust pastry. Should be able to post this about Thursday this week. The delay is because our camera had broken and we have just bough a new one. There are a lot of recipes I will be downloading that are quick and simple to make and very enjoyable. If you enjoyed the jam roly poly recipe please pass it on.

  • Thank you :)

  • yummy.

  • So glad you enjoyed this recipe. Will be down loading more soon.
