So what if this wasn't in the comic books. Their losses of their loved ones are what connects them together. Only one wants to protect instead of kill and the other wants to kill everyone.
Liam Neesam was going to be a brilliant Irish boxer-but he got concussed fighting a tinker-beat him but heard his sister crying over him-thought she was in another room-and gave up.
i wish we could see more of the training, and bruce wayn and ghul had a great chemistry, cant wait to see ras al ghul back in the dark knight rises, there will be a scene 30 years before the events of batman begins, i can only guess its going to be about his wife, because he mentioned to bruce that he once had a wife that was taken from him.
"That impossible anger strangling the grief until the memory of your loved one is just poison in your veins. Then one day you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed, so you'd be spared your pain."
Ducard (Neeson): "But I know the rage that drives you. That impossible anger strangling the grief, until the memory of your loved ones is just poison in your veins. And one day you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed, so you'd be spared your pain. I wasn't always here in the mountains. Once I had a wife, my great love. She was taken from me."
I cried so hard when I watched that part the other week. Because his wife died in real life... I love Neeson, oh god. D':
@guitarfella581 there is some truth in that, but dark knight is no way a dull action movie. b. begins was more philosophical because it needed to be, with all the flashbacks and back story, and such a charismatic villain
dark knight was absolutely built on a twisted yet brilliant main evil, who stole the show all the time- there weren't really side stories, it was all about his heists/murders etc. and nolan/ledger managed to make the char so intriquing that it carried the movie greatly
@chanelprincess16 it's basicly a no or go thing- if you're impressed by Ledger, you find the movie good. if you aren't, it'll probably suck for you. his performance is so good, that it carries the movie for most people.
i didn't watch this movie in the theaters because i was afraid it would be like the schumacher films. about a year later, i read some reviews for it online, and everyone liked it, so i bought the dvd, and it's become my favorite movie. I regret not watching it in theaters when i had the chance
This movie was absolutely brilliant...the second one doesn't even compare....it had the potential, but something fundamental was missing from Batman Returns....the acting wasn't as good and the storyline wasn't as intriguing.
Exactly. Very right. The Dark knight had better action, but this movie just beats that one from the point of view of storyline and philosophy. One of the best movies I've seen.

Batman Begins was good, but not great. The Dark Knight was almost as abysmal as Batman and Robin.

"The training is nothing, the will is everything! ...The will to act."
That's one of my favorite movie lines and I like the fact that it carries on into the Dark Knight with the other characters as well.

An excellent scene ~ the fine acting of Liam Neeson and Christian Bale.
Thank you for posting.

dark night had much better action, but the this has much better storyline
storyline is everything in a movie look at all those pointless action movies without good storylines like transformers

ever noticed how strongly music affects a movie?
try watching Batman Begins on mute and see how strong music can be.
