Hi nice tune ..great sound from pianoteq...are you running this on a laptop? I have a 61 note keyboard with midi ..would need to get a laptop & midi interface for USB connection..I checked the FAQ on the Modartt site..they dont specify a processor speed..maybe you could share your personal experience/setup Thanks
@guitarharpsichord I think you could certainly run this on a laptop, it's a light program and today's laptops are strong enough for this. Maybe not an entire sequrencer with an arrangement of plugins but I think this one could do
@CosmicD thanks ..your video seems to show CPU usage of about 20%..& thats using a webcam & recording also?..currently laptops seem to favor lots of RAM & HDMI & such..without much concern for processor speed..so I am skeptical.. I am considering 2.1GHz dual core & 3GB RAM DDR3...I guess that would be considered a modern laptop. That should also meet the competitions recommended specs.
yeah and that was one of the first versions of "version 3". In the mean time they even improved the piano models and i've mastered this song (slightly different key) for my new E.P.
yeah that was a little improvisation of the moment :). Sadly enough I didn't master it like that. Because the "E.P." version that's coming up was an extended version of my pianoteq contest song where I participated to win a license.
Pianoteq is so great. The massive sample libraries lose so much in playability, and they are just horrible resource hogs. The stuff Pianoteq does with damper pedals and so forth is never going to happen with sample based pianos. Sympathetic Resonating really adds a tremendous amount of life to a piano. Something sample libraries don't have, and it shows. They sound very sterile when you play with dampener open.
If you want to buy a softpiano, get this. It's pricy but well worth it.
Hi, you seem to have good experiences with Pianoteq.Could you please help me to get use it with my Roland RG1? How should connect it with Mac pro or an PC. Do I need in both case an Audio Interface? I heard that in case of Mac, there is no need an external Audio Interface. Thanks for your help!
you might get help from someone else cause I don't have a mac pro and don't know how exactly it will work there. I guess there's 2 ways. If that roland has drivers/usb combo then you can install those on your mac (hopefuly) and it will be seen as midi ports. But otherwise you need your midi interface, have a host sequencer , open the plugin and route your keyboard midi output to the plugin for receiving midi
beautiful piece... sounds good... how do you like pianoteq so far? always been curious about it... I hear it's great for solo piano, but see mixed opinions for mixing it with other VSTs. Anyways, nice job!
i think it's a big step forward from version 2, and that already sounded pretty convincing. I always say to friends, give pianoteq a few versions and you dont need to buy a 200+gb piano library anymore for it to sound good. And here you have the flexibility of manipulating the physics of the piano.
amazing

Nice relaxing piece. And you are right, Pianoteq is much better than all sample based piano synthesizers.

Parabéns! Muito bom, eu acho que o Pianoteq não deve nada aos outros simuladores de piano. Muito bom mesmo. *****
