  • this is not what i wonted

  • does anyone know where I can find this in spanish?

  • lol 51 watched since 1964. its the only xmas tradition I ever have had. See I come from the Isle of Misfit Toys.

  • I miss childhood too. I will never forget this! I love the old programs, don't give me the new stuff.

  • I agree. Reminds me of my childhood. The best cartoons are the vintage ones!

  • i miss my childhood... THROW AWAY THE SHITTY CRAP AND BRING SHOWS LIKE THESE BACK!

  • I loved the norelco electric shaver commercial always shown during rudolf when i was a kid where santa rode through the snow as a norelco electric shaver.

  • Lmfao my birthday is on a sunday this year and its on dec.4 legit.

  • Now I have to admit this is a great christmas classic. But to be honest when watching this special I was a little bit put off by it. Not that I have anything against this wonderful special but just the way all the other reindeer including his dad treat him because of his nose was a little bit much for me to take. True it was the 1960s and fathers were like that back then. But still it was a bit shock to me, even santa claus is a huge jerk in this special which isn't how I view santa claus.

  • i'm 17 and i've watched this version of rudolph every single year on christmas... i love it

  • Im pretty young, And I've been growing up on movies like this, not the lame modern day please the special effects crap that they put on tv...its now all sci fi trash and no MAGIC.....WHERES THE DAMN MAGIC???

  • on most of these stations LOL

  • I have this DVD, along with A Charlie Brown Christmas, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and the 1938 version of A Christmas carol. I watch them every Christmas, it wouldn't be Christmas without them.

  • Didn't I ever tell you about Bumbles? Bumbles bounce!

  • merry christmas and a happy new year 2011 -

best wish from gitte to germany

  • whats this movie called???

  • @pimpmachine3000 ....rudolph the rednose reindeer lol :D

  • The best tale of a Christmas Story makes you laugh cry and feel like you apart of the misfit toys island!

  • "The date, Sunday December 4th." This video was uploaded the same date, amirite?

  • does anyone have the full video of this? I would really want to find it, so could you please contact me???

  • @leopardhuga Yes I have the original TV speical if you get this let me know, Dan

  • @mrdano51 oh could you send it to me somehow? would be great:)

  • @leopardhuga You can purchase it on Amazon: It was only $8.99 Great deal for such a wonderful video. I loved this when I was little :)

  • It's amzing to think that Christmas is a jumble of at least seven traditions, celebrations and tales. for a long period of time it was the only thing that major powers across the globe had in common. personally I think the idea of christmas really hit home that fateful day during WW1 when soldiors climbed out of the trenches, traded cards, played football, passed food around... and to think only hours earilier they were firing on each other.

  • did you hear that? it's in color!!!!

  • Does anyone know how old this promo is? I loved Christmas, I still do.. it was so magical and still is. My parents always had a nice Christmas for my brother and I. I have some memioes I would not take any amount of money for. Merry Christmas all.

  • I loved the fuck out of this as a youngster. Still do.

  • The coolest thing I love about these series is all the great stars that starred in these series like Fred Astair, Ethel Mermen, Burl Ives, Red Buttons, Mickey Rooney!

  • I love this kind of cartoons.all clay and stuffed looking

makes the characters look really cute :]

    Happy Holidays

  • It's a classic in US, never saw it in Europe, but i'm glad i finally saw it!

  • classic.

  • Rosannamfan- same here! You took the words out my mouth!

  • Grew up watching this. I miss you childhood! Please come back lol

  • A great viewing tradition, a Rankin/Bass production.

With narrator Burl Ives in the role of Sam the Snowman.

  • @nutleyguitar1968 The end credits miss something if they don't have the "Rankin/Bass" theme playing afterwards. "ClassicMedia"... WHAT?!?!

Maybe a playing of the Rankin/Bass theme behind the "ClassicMedia" logo would serve a measure of artistic justice...

  • Like Christmas Songs? Enjoy Santa's First Stop ~ Euclid Beach Band ~ also here on YOUTUBE

  • It's Getting Close to Christmas! Only 2 Months :D

  • @Bam050196 S**t!

  • @borgduck Why say that?

  • I watch it every year...With Frosty and Magoo, and Charlie Brown and The original Grinch.....I mean this is what I grew up with and it is classic....makes me miss being a little kid....good times

  • @LadyBeth24 its funny ,with all our technology, i don't think any of these xmas specials have ever been surpassed.i can remember sitting on the couch , with my two sisters in the dark , the christmas tree lights, the presents and mom in the kitchen baking. if you missed any of them ,you were out of luck still next year.

  • I miss being a little kid and Christmas being the most fun times. i hate being a teenager, so much stress, drama, and just i hate the time period. I always looked forward to the end of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas were always so much fun.

  • ; Rest in Peace, Billie Richards,

    Cheers!

  • gaaaaaa, now i want christmas

  • merry christmas from hinckley, ohio!

  • texasmallery does have alot of issues. i don't kno what his or her problem is. im happy & having a very merry christmas. i was out of line with da dumbass comment but u shouldn't have typed me as being an idiot.

  • It's a wonderful christmas story where everyone is ostracized because they are different and then welcomed back because they become useful.

  • "texasmallery" has more issues than Sports Illustrated.

  • UGHH! I CANNOT FIND THE OTHER VERSION!

  • @texasmallery. the response wasn't for you so i guess you're da idiot/dumbass. P.S. merry christmas to everyone!!!!.....except you.

  • @farbeit89

anybody can respond to any comment ever posted for this video, even if it was intended for someone else. Regardless if it was for groupiesrule or not, anyone here can see the comment.

plus, you must be in a REAL bad mood, because you were the one who started it all by being sarcastic to groupiesrule.

you should have just PM'd him. FUCK OFF

  • The cartoon overall was nicely done. However, like in many other cartoons there are a series of misfits. The voice of little girl sounded like it belonged to the large woman. Then the song, "I don't know if there would be snow" while outside was big deal of blizzard.

  • Yes, you young whippersnappers - it WAS in 1964, when dinosaurs walked the earth, and the TV Guide would have a "C" in a circle to denote which programs were in color. Remember, that was the last season that B&W TV shows were still produced.

I saw it in 1964 when I was still 5. It was a Saturday, my parents woke me up from a nap and sat me down in front of our black-and-white Philco - 60 minutes of pure wonder and magic. I treasure that memory.

  • we use to wait every year 4 it 2 b on cbs! no dvd, vhs nuttin but the real deal folks! and the norelco commercial with santa it was such a great country back!

  • @seanhannity73 You are so right, loved this every year, how great times where in the 60s and 70s..I love the Santa and the Norelco..Merry Christmas.

  • @ groupiesrule.WOW ALL THE WAY BACK TO 1964!!! GOLLY GEE, I WONDER IF THERE WERE ANY PEOPLE ON EARTH BACK THEN? ANYWAY. ONE OF THE BEST CARTOONS OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON.

  • It was only 47 yrs ago idiot.

  • @ groupiesrule.WOW ALL THE WAY BACK TO 1964!!! GOLLY GEE, I WONDER IF THERE WERE ANY PEOPLE ON EARTH BACK THEN? ANYWAY. ONE OF THE BEST CARTOONS OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON.

  • I love this film soo much, I watch it every year without fail! Only just found out it dates all the way back to 1964, crazy stuff! Such a classic, merry christmas y'all

  • It's rude too. And to think you actually have friends...

  • december 4th my b-day YEY

  • i love this show

  • The best animated Christmas story ever told...

  • @Stormin024 claymation not animation

  • @barf245 Claymation is dealing with clay; and was done by Will Vinton studios. This is called Animagic; done with cloth and foam figures. Sinbad movies done by Ray Harryhausen are in Dynamation. Thease are all forms of Stop -motion ,Animation done with different materials. You need to study your film terms!

  • I didn't realize this movie was made in the 60s. Crazy.

  • The sound is off! LOL!

  • *Throws up pick axe*

    Nothin'

  • i have this video! XD

  • aww, i rememeber i always used to be terrified of the abominal snowman, i always used to hide under the covers..i'm 13 now but i still love this movie

  • aww i love this movie i gotta find it!!

  • skeen

  • I love this movie. I get more excited to see it now than I did when I was little. I just recently discovered that we have it on VHS and I was as giddy as a little kid on Christmas morning!

  • OMG! I saw this movie when i was 4 years old!

I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN! :'(

  • my dad had a chance to go to NBC and see all the little figures they were using for the movie before Rudolph aired on television :D

  • well good for you, did you get to meet burl ives to and shake his hand while you shared a hot cup of cocoa?

  • no, it was my dad, not me. i wasn't even alive then.

  • Classic. Love it.

  • This shit used to get me pumped when I was a kid...Its a shame we cant get that gitty about stuff as adults

  • dude, i believe that no matter how old a person is, they can never outgrow something that they loved as a child, heck, my Grandma is always so excited to watch this!!! =)

  • im 33 now but i used to get so excited to watch this movie when i was a little kid, heck i get excited to watch it now. my mom used to make my sister and i hot coco right when it started, it didnt get any better than that!

  • @18inover in 1939 but this movie is made in 1964

  • @18inover this came out dec 6th 1964, hope this helps

  • i remember this from wen i was little.....im 13

  • Sweet memories. Takes me back to when the parents were alive. I had earaches every Christmas and I can almost feel the drops sliding down the ear canal when I hear Burl Ives sing Holly Jolly Christmas. Those were sure great times!

  • I have this on VHS, used to watch this, it's such a classic, great special. P.S. Rest in Peace Burl Ives.

  • what are our good christmas movie like rudoplh made back in the day??

  • santa claus is coming to town...it has the same animation

  • there are many more that have the same animation.... they are great!!! So many more than you realize.. I keep finding more!

  • rudolph was aired on NBC until the mid 70s when CBS acquired the rights.

  • I know it's still wrong season but go check MeganandLiz's cover of this one and subscribe if you like them!

  • Don't be a dick, man. This is a classic.

  • Love this special. It (for me) is the best there is.

  • If this dosen't remind you of your childhood, I'm not sure what will

  • @hotcarl84 For me... it's this, and the Charlie Brown Christmas.

  • Couldn't wait for this show every December, along with A Charlie Brown Christmas, Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Four specials in one month--it was great! I loved TV back then, only got 4-5 channels but you could find something good all the time. And even though recording a show is convenient, it doesn't beat the anticipation of waiting for your favorite program, even if it was once a year. I miss the old days!

  • @wlhardy I agree with you 10000000%. Kids of today can even begin to imagine the experience our generation had with these Christmas specials. I'm 40 yrs old and I still love them.

  • @melh07302 You are so right, I am 50 and Christmas was so magical back then. The specials now cannot touch the old ones....we had a great time in the late 60s and 70s...Merry Christmas all

  • @1969pontiac1 To be fair, though, Rankin/Bass is a tough act to follow. Good Yule and a Merry Christmas :-)

  • @PhilWithCoffee You are right Phil, Good Yule and Merry Christmas to you and yours....

  • @wlhardy I could have not said it better, Christmas was so magical, I loved watching all these shows, I was and still am blessed with a wonderful family. I miss the Old days too. 4-5 channels, has all the 200 or 300 channels we get now beat by a mile....

  • Can't beat ol' fashioned prejudice and sexism.. lol

I used to love this movie as a child.

    I still do, I guess.

  • Yeah no kidding LOL. This show would never fly in today's politically correct nation.

  • december 4th is my wedding anniversary! how romantic! im so happy n in love wit my hubby xoxo

  • It is my birthday, too!

  • christmas is??

  • Lol i used to watch that movie religiously every christmas! When was it made/

  • 1964 I think

  • I have seen a christmas stop motion film by tim burton and henry selick. It's called the nightmare before christmas.

  • lance was here~+~+~*

  • Blitzen and Donner were just German for lightening and thunder.

Seems they should be more fierce looking, not cutesy-poo.

  • R.I.P. Burl Ives. We'll miss you.

  • Someone needs to find the Commercials that GE ran during the first runs of the special. They had these Characters in them.

  • Im in luv with the elf with the glasses..ps Im not Joeblow the hot

  • I did a clip called the murder of Yukon Cornelius stop by and check it out. Thanks

  • whoopie do!!!! Zeus... "The vocalist poll monster from the north"...LMAO... UCONN Cornelis

  • Bumble Rocks!

  • Oh I get hahahaha my last name is Rudolph!

  • this song is weird

  • I cannot believe that you all don't GET this. Burl Ives 'Rudolph" was THE Christmas programme for me for my entire childhood. If you have not seen it, you should; and if you do see it, and you don't 'get it,' then shame on you. This is all that is good about Christmas.

  • omfg the end scard me cuz im on laptop at 1:14 and every1 asleep godd

  • My son said he was afraid of the abominable snowman, when he was little.

  • it mit be babyish but i love it

  • wtf was that at the ending!? o_o

  • Jingle Bells

    Batman SMELLS

    Robin laid an egg

  • Why say "what the f..." This is classic, sorry youngster, if you don't like it. Merry Xmas

  • Holy

  • wot tha fuckkkkkkkkkk??????????????

  • GOSH

the static at the end scared the heck out me lol!!!

  • this was the worst, especially the staticy ending.

  • Most people have never noticed this about the Rudolph story, but they killed the fish-bird in the end credits...remember when they were handing out umbrellas to the misfit toys so they could float to the ground? Well, they just shoved fish-bird out of the sleigh with NO umbrella...remember he said he couldn't fly, only swim? So this means the elves murdered him! I have to go cry now! :'(

  • Rudolph the watermelon eatin nigga

  • i lol'd

  • (\___/)
