There are battles, but they're not live four on four. Instead, battle of the bands mode has several different ranking systems, such as score, star count, or note streak. It's different from world tour, in my opinion better, because you have more competition.

the microphone is way easier to use

the drums are closer to real drums(just without symbles and hi-hat)

the guitar can use the smaller frets as the solo parts

Well if you're into Online, you DEFINATELY want Rock Band 2 over Guitar Hero World Tour. Rock Band 2 lets you play with FOUR Wiis online. World Tour only lets you play 2 online.

And you CAN use the Gh3 guitar on Rock Band 2. :D

Yes, they are. =D I've tested them and they work fine. The orange drum counts as an extra blue drum, and makes cymbol sounds during drum fills. But when there're blue notes, you can hit either the blue or orange drums. =)

You need a Wiimote with the Mic to navigate through the menus and for an alternative Star Power, that is why it says 4 Wiimotes on the back of the case; Guitar, Bass, Drums & Vocals. also i have GH:WT on the Wii

Ooooh nice questions. Have I got good news for you. =D Yes, the GH3 guitars DO work with RB2. The online is BETTER than World Tour, connecting up to FOUR Wiis =D. The better online is the main reason I got RB2. All the World Tour instruments work, even the drumset. The orange drum works as an alternate blue drum.

Correct. Yesterday I used a GH3 guitar with Rock Band 2 on a friend's Wii. He didn't have World Tour though so I couldn't test the drums. But I'm sure it works. :) I bought Rock Band 2 Wii but I haven't played it yet because I'm out of town.

Lol... no offense.. but I have played the Wii version of GH:WT. To be more precise, I have it on Xbox360, played my friends PS3 version and gave a Wii set to my little cousin. Now, the Wii may now have DLC, but they have still seriously reduced the amount of set songs in the game... which you CANT get through DLC. I'm not saying its not fun on the Wii, but I would recommend it to people on either the 360 or PS3 versions.

I have two guesses.

1: The name you used has bad words or something.

2: The name is already taken by another player (I'm not sure if players can have the same name or not)

Yes, the GH3 guitars work for RB2 on wii as well. Originally, the GHWT hardware wasn't going to work at which is why Harmonix delayed releasing the game early. Buy the game fast beacause it will sell out quickly.

Hey there... you questioned about the GHWT drums on RB2 for wii - Since RB only has 4 pads for drums... you will only play with 4 pads on the GHWT drum kit (red, yellow, blue, green). I suggest taking the orange symbol off or turning it around so it won't confuse you. The GHWT microphone, guitar, and kit work on RB2 for wii.

If you read my comment below... I bought RB2 for the wii yesterday and already tested the GHWT instruments with RB2 and they all work pefectly. Since RB only has four pads for the drums, I recommend turning the orange pad on GHWT around or taking it off to not confuse you. RB is a much better game with the GH hardware!!!!

Yeah it's great on the Xbox. =) Better graphics than the Wii version, more amp effects in Song Creator, and electricity flow during star power. The only thing it doesn't have is Mii Freestyle, but you can play your own free music in Music Studio.

In only the Xbox360/PS3 versions, when you use star power, your character's instrument get zapped by electricity to emphasis that that player is in star power. On the Wii version when you use star power, the electricity doesn't appear.

Here are the differences between Xbox and Wii:

-Xbox has better graphics (characters receive electricity flow when they use star power, that doesn't happen on Wii)

-Online connects up to 8 consoles, while Wii's online only connects 2.

-Wii version has the exclusive Mii Freestyle mode

-Wii version has you plug remotes into guitars/drums

-Xbox's character-creator gives a few extra features

The wii is a piece of shit , if i had a wii with guitar hero world tour i would have more DLC than i can fit on its memory thats why rock band wasnt good on the wii the memory is too small and its disc on hold like 4 Gb the 360 holds 8Gb and the ps3 disc holds about 80 GB no lie if you play world tour or rock band 1 or 2 on ps3 or 360 you will like it better because its more complex features, and better online servers and community

Yes every player needs a Wii Remote. It plugs into the guitar and drums to power/connect them, and the singer needs one for menu options.
