  • When B. Sands passed the flags were half mast in Norway & parts of India!! But not in the Republic. I've rightly or wrongly never felt welcome in the South as a proud Belfast man. Sad, one island one people.

  • I learned this song when it was released and have not forgotten one word of it we were all born and reared to this music we still have the original LP . I am 100% proud of this song and 100000000% prouder to be Irish. Christy Moore is a pure ledgend for singing such a song.

  • Christy Moore is a legend.

  • amazing, they got a voice after all, thanx to the greatest, CHRISTY MOORE

  • The homes of Donegal - only later to be England's Motorway and then borrowed to grace the greatest lyrics ever written. Bless you Christy and bless you Bobby, Francis, Raymond, Patsy, Joe, Martin, Kevin, Kieran, Thomas and Michael - and God bless your families.

  • well done to bik for writing this, tal, never forgotten,30 yrs and counting

  • fantastic song!!!

  • biglad234 by 'us' i guess your reffering to the IRA or the H block prisoners? Well the reason christy wrote this song was when he was visiting the prisoners Brendan McFarlane asked him to write a song to get support for the protest. A recording of this was also made in secret in the H blocks. So he didn't do this to make money it was on request!!

  • @mozsyhay This Album was banned in the South

  • great song

  • stop makeing money of us you scumbag

  • @biglad234

Don't condemn unless you know where the man's money goes. Do you research and see how much he does for the people. And when this was recorded, the publicity was much needed so that is a contribution as well.

  • Great song
