Hi anyone want there feet read? Jus't put your feet in front of the camera for 1 minute you can make it unlisted if you don't want no one to see it on your channel send me the link in my inbox
Im only 21 yrs old, and i love this song!!! good music will always be recognized for its quality, whether from the 50s-60s or songs that come on the radio today. only a small percentage of songs are ever truely listened to FOREVER. this being one of them
I love this song and the Crows' original version, but for some reason both remind me of "Mean Streets" to the effect that after listening to this, I can't get it out of my mind. Thanks for posting this! ^_^

Thanks man! I was looking for a different oldie with the same title "I love you so" (you are my heaven and my desire, you always set my heart on fire). But out of curiosity I clicked on your video and as soon as that sweet harmony kicked in, I realised that this Chantels song was another beauty that I'd heard a long, long time ago and had almost forgotten! So glad I found it again... Thanks for sharing! Damn, where did all the good music go? So grateful that songs like this have been preserved.
This song sounded great back in the 50's blasting from the rear seat speaker of a '50 Merc coupe as it "burned rubber" in front of our High School ! Take me back !
Thank you John for uploading all the music I grew up with in 1950's & 60's in Nassau County, Long Island. We listened to the Chantel's on WINS, WABC, and of course WMCA the home of the "Good Guy's" !
1958...I was ten years old when this came out. My older cousin had introduced me to rock and roll when I was six and there was an instant addiction. She had the hots for Elvis I think. Remember hearing "Maybe" on the radio the year before and I loved it too! Saved my pennies and bought this record as a 78 rpm. Still have it but can't play it. The Chantels were from The Bronx, where I lived too. I was stung when my father said they sounded like cats. Their vocals still give me chills.
I'm wondering why anyone is comparing this group to the Supremes. They aren't really in the same time period. There's really no comparison. The Chantels fall more under the period of early to mid Doo-Wop. Whereas, by the time the Supremes came along, groups were no longer singing Doo-Wop. In addition, with the Supremes, Berry Gordy attempted to wane away from the "black Rhythm and Blues" sound. That was the point - cross over. This isn't cross-over.
Real sincere singing, real instruments, no fancy recording studio. Songs of love, not violence or drugs. Turn this one up LOUD in a public place and watch the smiles.
@GNRSlashLover Exactly! This was honest, gutsy, raw, as-you-heard-it. Her producer wasn't counting on the group being remembered for the ages, but the Chantels established themselves innocently and firmly in the beautiful pantheon of this genre.
@She2fkngr8 That's where I first heard this, too. I love the stuff from the 80s and 90s, heck even some songs today do it for me. But this is truely a beautiful piece of music that deserves to be remembered and discovered 'til the cockroaches run the planet.
The greatest girl group ever! Arlene Smith could sing circles around Dinah Ross, and most of competition she faced in that era....Except maybe Patti Labelle.
@olsailordan Well they certainly can make a good arguments for being best but so much of it is taste driven. For example I prefer the rougher sound of Martha Reeves of the Vandellas, Arlene's voice is sweet and she never misses a note.
@John1948TwoC Sweet, but earthy, sultry. Kathy Young's, for instance, was a voice to my mind more in the purely sweet category. I'll bet Arlene could rough it up, as much as say, Darlene Love. Could go lots of ways, depending on what's called for, lol.
@John1948TwoC Maybe so but the Chantels got more backseat fun than any other group of that era... They will always be the best in my book. And about a dozen gils back in that sleepy Ohio farm town.
@olsailordan Who the Hell is Dinah Ross...circles around Diana Ross..honey I dont think so. if that was they case she would have 18 no.1s to her credit. she does not. Diana still packs them in today..arlene does not. do the math
