  • I call the local classic rock station daily.. I leave voicemails and send emails... I pester at them to play songs like this... I am a massive Who fan.. but I want to hear something other than behind blue eyes or I can see for miles and miles... They NEVER PLAY THIS SONG AND IT PISSES ME OFF....

Last FM, Satellite Radio ( classic Vinyl ) Pandora are the last vestiges of real music... Enbrace them... enjoy them and support them people.... Long Live Rock be it dead or alive.

  • Man who wouldn't get right in tune with this whale dang album.

  • ok here is the real deal ,,, the tune is written from a musicians point of view for the sake of writing great music ( and if its musical art who gives a shit what the words say?) its about the music and thats why pop singers die with out a real band behind them and why classic rock lives on most of it is art ? in my opinion

  • WHO were the 7 fucksticks WHO disliked this.. WHO ARE YOU!!!

  • My bias says Who's Next is Who's best.

  • Probably my absolute FAVORITE song on this album! Thanks Pete!! : ) Keith's fills on this song are perfect...Roger perfect feel/diction...John playing awesome as always....::SIGH::

  • Who's Next=GOLD

Oh yeah, 7 people completely out of tune

  • The Who are the Greatest of all time, enough said

  • This song is my very mood, I am it's tune, I am lonely and alone and I want to do him and ride him, and make love to him like he's never been made love to before, I want him to feel like he has not ever felt before, baby with you, we can feel like we've never feel, But for now I am in tune, looking for soul mate, 2:19 is perfect, it is ME!!! LOVE THIS SONG!!!! I could listen over and over.....XXXXX!!!!

  • This song touches my heart and it's kinda like getting in tune is getting in tune with my mind, seems like I haven't being pleasing some freinds lately and that I have hurt them so bad, that they felt it necessary to DELETE me off their FB acct, SKYPE acct, etc...I feel sad because that is not my intentions, this song touches my heart and helps me to express my dismay....

  • nicky hopkins is an absolute fucking beast ofa piano player.... amazing does not quite do it justice.

  • 1990 is the cut-off !! Absolute ! The ninnies in the media are trying to get you all to listen to bieber, watch kardashians, and vote Socialist. And buy Lame shit at the mall -over and over ,... 'Just Listen to old Who albums ,..and you should be ok ! no need to take drugs people !

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE Drugs aren't all bad you ever read about shrooms? They change peoples outlook on life for the good. They can get rid of OCD and if you take them and go to church it'll be the best religious experience of your life. Cannabis can help people with pain and its actually better for you than pain pills.

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE Quick, everyone! Start listening to post - 1990 music so we can all piss off GreenhouseEffectGE

  • It's all the same guys from that 1965 album,...Nicky Hopkins n' all,....yet they sure come a long way baby and sound quite different from 'The Goods Gone', Kids are alright, and La-La-La-Lies,...Don' they ? !! The Who are/were an awesome Evolution - Today, ...all the music just sounds exactly (Ezackly) the same with Pro-tools and digital crap,...Rap music sucks, bieber sucks, Foo Fighters-suck, mtv sucks, grammys suck - Don't listen to ANY MUSIC recorded 'after' 1990 - people please !!

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE Well... Some music was ok in the 90's. I think hell broke loose after 1999.

  • I used to get in tune.... then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Best rock album of all time.... Nevermind was great because it was progressive and I like Cobain and his writing style.. But there has never been an album with this much moxy in it.. Remember folks this is not just teen angst that most bands strike on early in their careers... This is almost a decade into the band... several albums and world tours later...This is after they changed the world with Tommy... Only Pete could come back and keep writing and give us this album.

  • Yes, this album is up there with Zoso, Yes' classic years, Pepper, and others.

  • a bit sophomoric idea for a song. george harrison wrote only a northern song- which was even more self conscious. before that was, "sing johnny one note". the gettin in tune is most classic.

  • SO many artist don't even realize the influence of the WHO on their music. It might be thru three levels, but Townsend and Daltry influence is in so MANY of them.

  • Gettin' in tune to the straight and narrow.

  • He is just toooo FUCKING!!! GOOD!!! At BASS!!!. I can't handle it.

  • the piano's tune at the beggining reminds me of the piano in Coldplay's "the scientist" =P

  • @Sparten942 This came out before the scientist, so the correct way to say this is "the scientist reminds me of getting in tune by the who".

  • I still can remember the day My, " Who's Next" 8 track broke. that had to be the one of the saddest days in my life. oh well,, NOW THERE"S you tube, righttttt! rock on rockers

  • One of the all time best rock songs.

  • Keith Moon was a god damn beast!

  • Gotta love The Who!!!

  • One of my all time favorites. Does not get any better than this. Many years ago I would listen to this entire album over and over again on cassette.

  • It's kinda funny. I was punching all the radio buttons the other day hearing mindless crap, and then I came across this song and fell in love with a 40 year old album all over again.

  • the best album of alltime nothing's even close

  • the who is the beethoven of rock

  • @RappaDaddyK no beethoven is the Who of classical

  • I'm in Tune !

  • this song is 40 years old!!! Yet, it is timeless.....and will forever be.....awesome classic!!

  • Such a complex masterpiece of a song and album. Starts off so powerful and with maybe a sadness or a certain focus depending on your own interpretation but then get rockin' more towards the end. Starts off in a love song type with the piano playing in such a powerful melody with Rogers voice moving right along with it in a "I'm sorry but can't help but love you so much" sorta way. I don't know, for me the best part of this song is the beginning because it just starts off soo good. Great song

  • Keith Moon so sad but true

  • i went to this concert a few years ago and passed out on the first song....god what a waste, lol, still had fun

  • this album is probably the greatest album ever made, its better than the white album.. every song is a masterpiece. anybody who likes classic rock should own this album

  • i was so fortunate to have seen them at the old patriots stadium, which is now gillette, it was owned by the sullivans back in the early 80"s, then a very business savvy man got an idea?? he wanted to own a football team, so he bought the new england patriots and a brand new stadium. he made the pats what they are today a very awesome club. i really hope they have a great year. that almost lock out would have spelled disaster for millions. we have a fucking stupid government that won't pay SSDI

  • One of the best Who songs, in my opinion, that never received air play like the other Who hits...

  • @CoastGuardIDC they played it over and over in our area early seventies then dropped from classic rock format dumb classic rock formats

  • @jorgedeeds I hate the "classic rock" stations in America today....they all play the same songs as if one big computer controls the play list.....I can go to California one day and Florida the next, and all the "classic rock" stations play the same songs from the same artists....

  • @CoastGuardIDC still better than going from California to Flordia and hearing the same rap songs lol

  • @MoondogGuitarist ....true that...lol..

  • @CoastGuardIDC Look up KTWS 98.3 from Bend Oregon. Might change your mind.

  • In my opinion, one of the best classic rock albums of all time. I grew up w/ this album and still love it! It's timeless.....

  • who's next is one of the best collective of great tunes you'll ever experience

  • pete was a genuis

  • I sing this while tuning my guitar.

  • Who's Next was one of the greatest albums ever recorded. You had to be there to understand the impact it had - as a collection.

  • Listening to this with 2 skullcandies on full blast is eargasmic.

  • Great bassline by the Ox !

  • Tune IN =) It's time

  • What a great transition back to the original key after the first bridge. First rate pop music arrangement.

  • I'm just bangin on my old piano... :)

  • Im just banging on the piano.......

  • This song's piano gives me that "butterfly" feeling inside. You Who fans know what i'm talking about. That feeling of real music that actually has soul, and isn't made for money. RIP Moonie, RIP Ox. I tried getting my friends into The Who, but they prefer Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, and other rappers.

  • yes I wore out 3 lps of this and had it on 8track and cassette my favorite who lp

  • I so love the spirit of Pete Townshend

  • I'm sorry Rolling Stone magazine, but Nevermind is NOT, nor was it ever, a better album than Who's Next.

  • @MetroidFan621 Rolling Stone Magazine rarely has any idea what they're talking about. :/

  • Comment removed

  • @MetroidFan621 wrong

  • @2004raya No, MetroidFan621 is absolutely right. Nirvana was so fucking overrated it's pathetic. Who's Next blows Nevermind out of the water.

  • @MetroidFan621 same with revolver, sgt pepper, rubber soul, and anything else put ahead of this masterpiece

  • @MetroidFan621 I'm with you 100%

  • @MetroidFan621 tottaly, (not that nevermind is bad though)

  • @MetroidFan621 i agree with that statement! how ever nevermind did change the direction of rock and popular music this album who's next did not. this album took a long time and stayed a long time on FM radio back in the 1970's! and it is a classic album.

  • @MetroidFan621 I believe that is opinion. It could be argued that Nevermind is more influential overall, since it basically launched grunge and a ton of 90s music. Not saying it is better, but maybe you are biased saying this.

  • @gheffty93 Well, in all fairness, Nirvana was one band of many that exploded in 1991. And that music revolution took a decade to grow and build momentum. There's never been anything like that in pop music history. For whatever reason, Teen Spirit became the anthem of the moment, and Kurt Cobain became our patron saint. I still can't quite explain it, to be honest. These things just happen, and then the historians cram it all into easy-to-digest stories.

  • @gheffty93 I don't know about that - Who's Next completely revolutionized the use of synthesizers in rock music, and that influence was felt through the 70s, 80s and beyond.

  • Jerry Maguire

  • the beginning piano reminds me of imagine

  • I know there were huge headliners by this time but imagine following the Who back then in their prime. Holy Shit! They could not be touched!

  • This song touches my soul. Perfection.

  • I'm 23 and grew up on the Who, if more fathers were like mine music would be in a better place today, my top 5 real quick 1) Jethro Tull 2) Pink Floyd 3) Led Zeppelin 4) The Who 5) The Doors

  • OMG,, MEMORIES,,,, this song reminds me of a club we all went to on Brown st In Dayton Ohio years ago ,, all the bands would play this tune, and let me tell you,, Those were the Glory Days as my best friend would say...

  • best album ever

  • I wish The who can come to grand rapids,Mi,USA in this year 2011tours. Peter's songs touch me, Roger's voice encourage me.

  • is this Dr Seuss` whawhoozit

  • great song!!!!!

  • one of the ALL time best Best

  • 2:38, pure Ringo influence.

  • keith moon is the greatest drummer of all time

  • Timeless. This is definately one of those albums to listen to from start to finish. No skippin songs on this one.

  • @Ninety6Inches Absolutely.

'Who's Next' is CLEARLY one of those rare, rare total albums where EVERY single song is amazing, definitely no 'throwaways' on this one. 8-)

  • An all-time classic album -- even the 'lesser' tunes (My Wife and this one) are great. Everyone who likes rock or pop music either has owned this one already or will! Came out when I was in high school, and it has never really grown old.

  • party, I am with you this album made my life. It is one of the best ever....yea

  • I'd put this album up against any other rock album ever made.. :)

  • @partypianoplayer -- I totally agree with this album being right at the top -- but I would add Aerosmith (1st self titled album), & J Geils Full House (Live In Detroit) -- all great, and none better than the other!! :)

  • Dude, seriously someone disliked this song? Wtf? THE WHO IS AMAZING!

  • i enjoy this music, but to be as generalizing and narrowminded as to say that today's music and generation has no appreciation and has lost their way is obsurd. There ARE people who appreciate this music, and there ARE people who create GREAT music today, whether it sounds anything like The Who or not. Appreciate your era's music, don't get stuck in it.

  • @COLDgraffiti DUDE! My band plays classic rock and we absolutely admire The Who. :)

  • @COLDgraffiti

right on bro well said. someone once told me, just because you don't like a bands music, doesn't mean it sucks. is all opinion anyway. i like alot of new stuff, and im 45

  • I can't pretend there's any meaning here in the things I'm saying, but I'm in tune.

  • Makes me wanna buy a Honda. Whoops, wrong song.

  • Just realized Nicky Hopkins plays Piano on this tune(no pun intended). What legendary band hasn't be appeared as a guest on?

  • looks like they are about to piss.

  • @ed102660 they just did. that's the point of the album title

  • @ed102660 ---ha ha! Good observation, but u have to admit----the song is great

  • @ed102660 I thought they received blow jobs! *lol*

  • god these songs on this album are so goood!

  • I have every album by the Who on vinyl. And I mean every one of them that was ever printed. They will remain with me and get handed down when I die.

  • love this song!!!!! Sang it all the time.....wore out the vinyl on my record player/8 track..

"I got it all here in my head!!!!"

  • this song always makes me crack a grin-- not serious- but a great TUNE and and the master -Peter T gets it done every way ----hey guys did you ever get the feeling that the Who were overlooked big time

  • this song always makes me crack a grin-- not serious- but a great TUNE and and the master -Peter T gets it done every way ----hey guys did you ever get the feeling that the Who were overlooked big time

  • My dad listend to this all the time, he grew up with the best music around, Great Song !

  • @DanDaMan4ever2010 ... tell your dad I love him.. he raised you good... this album is great...

  • My daughter is only 11 weeks old right now and I play her this daily and tons of Who, Beatles, Tull, Moody Blues.....

  • @jtwig Play her Beatles - Good Night. or Paul Simon - St. judy's Comet or Macca - Heart of the Country John Lennon - Watching the Wheels Vaughan Brothers - Tick Tock Cat Stevens - Morning Has Broken Supertramp - Even in the Quietest Moments. Pete Townshend - Let my Love Open the Door (e. cola mix) (That last one, not as good as original but good nonetheless.) I love hard rock but there are some amazing Classic Rock slower songs out there (the Who DEFINITELY included!)
  • unbelievable passion...

    THIS is my inspiration.

  • One of my many favorite Who songs!! Brilliant and Incredible!! Did I mention passionate and breath taking!!!?? The Who are Rocks GREATEST band!

  • Top notch! Motivates me to research myself in life. Thank YOU!

  • oh my god... one of the best songs ever...

  • Reflective lyrics and passionate music. It's too bad that the modern era has no appreciation for their heritage and it sounds like they've lost their way. This album spoke for an era in an unprecedented manner. Passion and creativity collide.

  • @speedbird49 Well put. That was a time when the BEST and the MOST POPULAR were one and the same. For a brief moment.

  • @speedbird49 If this was recorded today it would be titled Getting in (Auto) Tune.

  • @bradco6 niceone.... it's a shame but it's true

  • I have so much of The Who on vinyl and I love it all. Anyone interested in it let me know......

  • All of your Who posts sound great, and I appreciate it.

  • @mickindanny DITTO.
