Not sure who it is by, thought maybe Loves Ugly Children, or Superette or someone else, but I'm trying to find a 90's kiwi song such by I think a guy and a girl with something along the lines of "why do fools fall in love", possibly that's not quite it but something about fools in love. suggest away...
This was a fantastic song back in the day and still holds up nicely... sadly that music video (Like nearly all NZ music videos) could have done with a bigger budget.
It reminds me of the Greenskeeper's "Lotion" song & Nick Cave's Stagger Lee (As in funky songs about a serial killer).
