Child labour is not bad per se. In former times all children had to work. Look at the tribes today! Or children whose parents are farmers or peasants. It is only bad if the bosses don't care about their health and try to get rich at the cost of children.

Do you really think that they should better go to school do get a better job? There aren't so many good jobs. Nowadays even academics are jobless.

I wish you would quit quoting their wages in US dollars, it doesn't translate to the Indonesian (or any other country in question) economy, perhaps if you said, an office worker gets Rp. 50,000 a day, and these children get Rp. 5,000 a day it would make more sense. Perhaps if you tell us how much a meal costs as well.
