  • El mejor sin duda,un saludo Matisyahu ONE RESPET

  • whats g-d? its called god.

  • It became Jewish tradition years after the 2nd temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. The Rabbi's at the time start to teach that Yaweh's name is to Holy to utter. But God want's all his people to call him by his name. Because God wants them to have a relationship with them. That's why he told the Hebrews his personal name. Yaweh

  • @Kazukafication

It is symbolic that spelling it out can "destroy" the name of G-d. Like if you write it on a piece of paper and then erase it or crumble the paper then you are destroying his name, so we write it in a way that if the paper or whatever is destroyed its not destroying his name

  • today i just picked up youth and light. his music is amazing, so talented, and he has a real positive message. hes using his gift to bring people closer to g-d, and g-d wil bless his efforts

  • Beautiful song and the acoustic version its amazing ! Hashem Bless you Matis!!

  • man u r amazing!

  • Hasidic reggae rules! :)

  • He never ceases to freak out and utterly amaze me. Fantastic.

  • Jerusalém, sou fã...

  • Babylon was, at one point, the most impressive city on Earth, but it was built on slave labor from conquered peoples. It was built on Empire, and the experience of Exile there has inspired Jews and Christians. why? Because God gave a people that negative experience, to allow them to testify to the world about and inspire the world to overcome cultural hardship. For almost 2,000 years, Jewish people have been saying, "Next year, Jerusalem" That's not both sad and great?

  • If you think that people with "these sorts of religious beliefs have psychological problems", then you should let your prejudice preclude you from watching videos of spiritual musicians like Matisyahu.

p.s. - Babylon was also the capital of one the earliest and greatest of christian civilizations, Chaldea. It continued to be an intellectual and technologically amazing nation, as it went from pagan to christian to muslim. that whole time, there were still Jews all over Iraq.

  • i check this kind of thing out occasionally, due to morbid curiosity, you could say, as i come from what i'd call a rabid orthodox zionist background. something i rejected at a young age. rejected the religion for many of the reasons i've stated, and more, and zionism, as it's been a project of ethnic abuse. & i feel obliged to challenge all of this bullshit. i don't know if you're jewish yourself, but, we jews have a tendency be confrontational & to speak out against things we disagree with...

  • I am not Jewish, but we Irish have the very same tendency, trust me, i grew up in a city with more Irish than Dublin and many more Jews than Tel Aviv and Jerusalem combined. please don't take this as patronizing, because that is not my intent, but I think that you should not let your background discourage you from considering God. I did not let mine discourage me, (and mine has its baggage too, Word.) I am a better person for having overcome my background to embrace a God who loves me.

  • that is to say, it's my cultural background. so, even though i disagree with it strongly, and will say exactly why that is, i check it out once in a while out of morbid curiosity. because it is my own cultural background, or, maybe i should say, my "cult" background... in a sense, i suppose you could say matisyahu is a positive ambassador for the jews, - the religious jews, that is, - except that the religion itself is such a load of b.s.

  • come to think of it, maybe that's been a tradition for more like 2500 years, since the Exile.

  • ok. i didn't know about the slavery & empire, which, if true, i'd also condemn. what i remember from the torah is the hebrew "god" (there is no god outside of the human imagination" condemning the place because people had advanced architecture & spoke many languages. that part would have me condemning the imaginary patriarchal war god at the center of hebrew monotheism. i'm against animal sacrifice, and as jerusalem represents the temple, whose main activity was animal sacrifice, it means little

  • animal sacrifice was an ancient attempt to do away with human sacrifice, which was the norm before that (see Abraham and Isaac, also Iraqis....)

I am also against the patriarchal war god. but it seems to me that modern jews have a view of God which has evolved, and is supposed to evolve. that's what the Commentary and Opinions are for.

  • sure. often, people only accept the torah by "interpreting" it to mean something other than what it says, since it's so barbaric, and, when that's too far of a stretch, they just don't think too much about certain points. but, if you're going to create something different to believe, why call it judaism anymore, and why claim it's based on the torah, supposedly the word of god? why not admit that you are just making something up as you go, and it has nothing to do with any "god"'s command?

  • Thanks for sharing this. I like how he politely corrects her on where he went to school. White Plains, not Westchester. :o)

  • you ask whats with the Jamaican accent um thats kinda silly he sings reggae lol just thought i would answer your obvious answer :P

  • this fools a fuckin G. jewish reggae artist...tell me thats not original.

  • what's with the fake jamaican accent? well... i guess a lot of people do that.

  • it's not "fake".. that's how you sing reggae....duuuuh and a darn good job he does.. if I had heard him on the radio without knowing who he was, I would have thought he he was a black Jamaican... love reggae.

  • it 's strange that people don't sing with their own accents. i don't believe people do this in any other genre of music. plus, i hate his whole religious trip. if you read the torah you can see that it's a barbaric book that teaches religious and ethnic violence, genocide, animal sacrifice, gender inequity, and violence toward gay people. it's pathetic when people try to twist that kind of craziness into something supposedly holy. btw, i know. i come from that religious background btw. screw it.

  • Completely awesome. I'm gonna support this artist and buy his albums. Thanks for sharing!

  • that is very good i lovit ;)

  • i like this version better

i'm writeing this drunk....am i alloud to do that to?

  • Well , if you REALLY want to belief like a chassid, you can just DON"T do ... or...

  • yeah, okay...but it's not like he's gonna go to hell if he looks at someone tits

  • of course not!

Because he does a lot of good things!

  • so we agree

  • what do you mean he send his message to the zionists ?

maybe to the left pepole around here =\

but we all want a jew country beacuse its our only countrey and the arabs have 22

  • I love this guy.. he's sending his message to the zionists (he is not 1) he is a othadox Jew. "Jurusalem if i forget you.." (its true meaning that God gave to the "Chosen Peopple" Nice.

  • I like that acoustic version of the song. Also the lady is hot too. Lol.

  • FROM CHAOS TO HARMONY

When a single person corrects his or her attitude toward others, this instigates a chain of

events, a process of unconscious, positive changes in the awareness of all people. "
