  • DSG means Direct-Shift Gearbox, not dual shift gearbox

  • manual is more FUN end EASIER

  • the external sound from the DSG is so sick , nice tranny.......

  • @thenikoxgtr You should also hear the nice exhaust note from that turbo 2.0 liter! Even at idle, little throttle blips make nice burbling noises, and full throttle is sweet.

  • it an awsome transmission untill the prnds start flashing. if you have one do it you will know fear as your car at 75 gose into nutral and will not reset and your stuck on the interstate with a car that will not move no reverse no gears at all just nothing. but even though my 3.2l s line tt has done this two times now i still love my car but then who would'nt love a Audi tt Quattro with the R32 DSG oh it is a 2004 first year of the DSG TT 1 of 140 3.2 TT roadsters for 2004

  • @posro1988 you can keep DSG in D mode. When at standstill you only have to press on your break. The clutches open and they can't get too hot

  • Good video. Just answered all my questions about that tranny.

  • car is awesome..if u are thinking about buying, go for test drive an you will never look back

  • Good tranny and very fun to drive imo.

  • @posro1988 for long pauses always use N=neutral guys to protect your gearbox from pointless overheating!(like in traffic lights)

you just have to remember brake then D again to move. bettet for gb and brakes and stopligjts and avoiding stupid mistakes like slip from the brake with D (gear in)

  • @johnnyxp64 its on wiki too

  • @johnnyxp64 exactly

  • @johnnyxp64

that might apply to a "real" automatic transmission, but the dsg is basically a manual gearbox, only the shifting and the clutch is automated.

so if the motor is running and the car stands still, the clutch is disengaged.

it doesnt matter if you use N or D, N is simply not engaging the clutch if you apply throttel.

  • @heldgop sorry nop.

its clear in the wiki too, even in disengaged mode, there are gears moving and gears engages! in N its apsolutly neutral, otherwise we would need N if D+brake was a 100% replacement.

just check wiki its all there! using n will help you gb last longer.-

  • @posro1988 I didn't mention anything about that because I have never read it in any owner manual for a DSG VW or Audi, or heard it from our instructors. I prefer not to spread rumors.

  • Sold ! If I was in the market for a GTI w/ DSG I would definitely buy from you. Thanks for the great video.

  • thanks

    for

    the video

  • good vid.....

  • There is a jounalist inside every american.

    You talk so much!

  • Lame when the guy who works at the dealership doesnt even know what DSG stands for.... DSG = Direkt-Schalt-Getriebe = Direct Shift Gearbox

  • Thanks mate this is a great explanation, answered alot of the things i was wondering about.

  • The guy under me is gay... Who cares if u know or not why u wont buy DSG.. U should be driving a civic..

  • can youskip gear like go from 6th gear to 3rd ? or from 3rd to 6th , can you push start the car if the battery dies?

  • @dieselboy77

You can skip gears - like from 6th to 4th, I am not sure about 3rd, RPM might be too high.

You cannot push-start a DSG car.

  • @micosilver

ok good to know , thanks for the info, now i know why i won't get DSG

  • if you drive conservatively using the pedals will the car do well in gas quality??

  • @hemanwomanhaters1 The most efficient way is to stay in Drive mode, and go easy on gas.

  • How does it respond on down shifts? Any trouble shifting up early? Auto downshift in all modes? Able to down shift to neutral with the paddles etc in any modes?

  • @pachris It responds just as quick on downshifts, unless you are already at high RPM, and downshifting will put the range to high, and it will not downshift.

You can go to neutral at any time, although why would you want to?

  • @micosilver hey nice review, what about the braking, is braking strong enough to stop car where u want at such speed?

  • @bharatkumargupta Braking is fine, stops fast.

  • @micosilver I was wondering if you hear the wastegate actuator rod rattles in this car between 2200-2800rpm at moderate acceleration - I own a MK6 GTI and a lot of owners are experiencing the same problem which I was told it is normal. I am asking because this car just sounds so smooth in Drive with such a gentle acceleration and couldn't hear any rattles. It's kind of raspy as if something small is rolling in a tin can and it doesn't appear on hard acceleration.

  • @micosilver

Can u always drive it in sport mode? And is the only difference between sport and drive how fast it accelerates

  • @Kevin172737 Sure you can drive in sport mode all the time. Sport accelerates more, but also it will keep RPM higher, so when you push the gas - it responds faster.

  • @micosilver Do you get the wastegate actuator rod rattles in this car? I own a MK6 GTI and I get rattles in my car between 2200-2600rpm at moderate acceleration - I am told this is normal and a lot of owners are experiencing this but couldn't hear it while you were driving it in Drive. It sounds how it should sound.

  • Fella, this vid is great, but you should look for a more appropiate place to accelerate so fast. I thought you were about to crash many times !!!

  • mico great video !

  • Very informative video! Great work!

Quick question; can you switch from DRIVE to SPORT while accelerating?

  • @zipidy928 Yes, you can switch from one mode to another in motion or while accelerating.

  • great video. I really learned a lot about the dsg now.THANKS.

  • you get no power when you rev past 5500 RPM, going all the way to 7 grand is not going to get you going faster and its just wasting gas.
