I'm with you Chuck. I believe that it was a result of a collapse in the old mine workings that caused the pipe failure. I think that the water from the pipe was going into a sinkhole eroding it till it finally collapsed. Then when they dumped truck loads of gravel in the hole it blocked the hole enough to caused the water to back up.
Yes it is a sinkhole from the old mine workings. I was just in town tonight and seen all the firetrucks down there. Apparently it is getting bigger and they now have water backing up which the fire trucks are pumping to try and avoid coming over the road.
Put some cardboard n duct tape over it maybe no1 will notice............

I was there last night keeping an eye on the pump they brought in,lowering it by crane as the water was pumped out

this isn't a mine shaft it's was caused by a broking pipe. the fire trucks are pumping so they can try to find the big problem.
