That got me thinking about the 70's Nair commercials, which featured a spoof of Short Shorts... and 40 years later, I'd still never heard the original song!

I was 13 when this came out, and it didn't impress me

then and still doesn't. Sorry fans, but this is stuff that could

have been done by anybody. I thought it was amateurish

then, and time hasn't changed this view. Notice the Cop-out

fade-out ending. Maybe my music studies at the time were

diverting me from real trash, but I heard it enough times

by accident to wish it would go away.

Felix, 78s were made in America until about 1960. Apparently a few 78s were made in low quantities until 62, but I haven't personally seen any newer than 1960.

Canada and The UK pressed 78s until at least 62.. Some countries in South America, The Philipines and India made 78s until the late 60s.

I've heard that Carlton went up until '62 in small quantities on certain releases. It may have even been Mike (Chess1458) that told me about this. If you want to know about late 78s, he's the man to talk to. I've heard of a vinyl pressing of a There's A Moon Out Tonight on Old-Town. The latest American 78 I've personally seen was Puppy Love by Paul Anka.. The record dealer made a huge deal of it because it was from 1960

Looks like a DUAL 1209 or maybe a 1219. They haven't made them for over 25 years. If you need to spin 78s look for a good used Empire manual belt drive turntable.  They are out there and they are workhorses.
