Well, Nintendo Power pretty much confirmed a remake of 5 by having an entire section on it, and the creators said they'd remake 4, 5, and 6 because they're a trilogy.
Dunno, I guess Wikipedia. In the original 6, I'm pretty sure you can find the children from the hero and his wife from 5, or, at least that's what I heard.
ohhh that for sure doesn't mean their a trilogy. Most of the games have some sort of link. In DW 7 theres a part in verdham where you see Mara and Nara, the dancers from DW 4. That doesn't mean 7 is a sequel in any way.
@guarani527 There's most certainly a suggestion that DQ IV, V and VI are a trilogy. The connection you're looking for is Zenitha, the castle that floats through the sky, and also the Zenithian armor wich can be found in these games.

You can't compare FF to DW/DQ series. They are fundamentally different. FF is a theatrical RPG which shows you a story. DW/DQ is a subjective RPG where your personal journey matters more.
In other words, FF is more like watching a movie while DW/DQ is more like reading a book.

As for the FF series, I got the same impression : Its priority are cinematics and story. However, FF's roots are similar to DQ's style so it CAN be compared.
