  • Damn, I was just about to have breakfast but now my spoon scares me!

  • The basic mistake I keep seeing in a lot of comments from people new to TZM are "who would be doing the work, if nobody has to?".

In an RBE, the mentality would be a lot different. I am 100% sure that jobs that machines can't do would be done by part-time volunteers. I even think that some "mandatory" volunteer work would exist until complete automation is done. Think 10hrs a week - if everyone put it that much each week, everything would be taken care of.

  • @CingerNebojsa People understanding a RBE would, just like me, like to work 16 hours a day if I could only get this system going. I'd rather work 16 hours a day for a goal like this, than 8 hours for some stupid job. Also, the idea of needed 7 billion people to feed/house/cloth 7 billion people is ridicolous hehe

  • @Nehbur

    Totally agree!

  • Who is going to repair the automatic machines that run the society in a resource based economy if they don't get anything 'extra' while everyone else is enjoying themselves travelling and playing games?

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER First of all, it's not a complete replacement of humans. But a overhaul of how machines are designed.

Redundancy is built in so that a machine can diagnose whether it is functional or not. and can alert a repair machine to either recycle and replace the faulty machine or if that kind of system isn't built request human assistance in replacing the part. We become the maintainers of machines, and as the technology gets better, the less time is spent maintaining them.

  • One of the best from McLeish, keep spreading the word!

  • This is a great talk.

    False. The internet

  • In a resource based economy, where everyone shares cars rather than owning one, I see some problems with this. For example, my dad and I share the family car at home. I drove it yesterday after going for a swim and this left a wet mark on the car seat. My dad borrowed it afterwards and he got a wet ass as a result. Similar incidences would happen in a resource based economy, so what would you do about that?

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER Property won't be left in a good condition because no one owns it, just like how the public toilets right now get ruined.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER maybe... we need to learn respect.. we are all lazy animals. I'd live in a shit town if everyone is equal.right now the difference is too huge.. I'm willing to get rid of some of my "Abundance" for less. we gotta stop this madness. toilet is a detail!

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER Automatic heated seats to evaporate the water???

  • @Filmchica What about paint that has been left on there because the last person didn't care to clean after themselves? You can't get rid of all problems unfortunately.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER I understand that. TZM advocate resource balance not utopia. But if the car is still dirty, just "call up" another one that is clean. You would have to wait a few more minutes but... it beats driving around in a dirty car. A minor inconvenience, that person won't die waiting for another car.

  • @Filmchica The person is wearing nice formal clothes they want to keep clean, they choose not to use the dirty car because the paint all over the inside of the car left by the last person would tarnish their appearance for the important place they need to be for a conference. If he dials up another car, hoping it is clean, he will be waiting which he can't afford because he needs to be at the conference, not be late.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER There exist nanofibers that can repel dirt. Ultraviolet light kills most bacteria. All that is needed is an implementation of ultraviolet light and nanofibers inside cars and simply nanofibers on the outside of cars if we wish for them to require far less cleaning maintenance. It'll be cleaner than any used car you've been in today's world that doesn't apply those technologies.

  • @Filmchica If had owned a car, not shared, he would be able to know it would be well looked after and reliable.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER

If he had owned a car, then he has to clean it himself, or someone else do it for him.

With all the automatic car clean-up shops, I bet the car would just go there and get itself clean, while a clean car is sent to the person.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER haha glad you are kidding ;) this is truly possible. like the Rolling Stones said. All You Need Is Love! remember?

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER well they didnt "say it" they sang it.. a bit out of tune compared to standard Black Ass Pee autotune ;)

  • Excellent presentation...

  • I support the zeitgeist movement

  • @sixxdegree what does supporting this movement means tho? I mean what do you "physically" do to change the world to the type of world they want?

The reality is giving support to this movement for most people is watching a video. And they can keep making these videos all they want, but most people in the developed world know the issues but no one has any "practical" way to change it. This includes Zeitgeist. They just point out logical and obvious things people "should" do.

  • @shaktiX "supporting" is being informed, and spreading the information to your surroundings. You can't make it the big change happen, but you can be ready for it. You can also not play into the system. What may seem obvious to you, may not be obvious to your friends and family.

  • @CingerNebojsa All im saying is, even if everyone in the world got informed about whats happening and watched every Zeitgeist video made, it would not actually bring any change.Knowing or understanding the issues is not enough to bring change. Like you said "you cant make make a change but you can be ready for it" But "what" is going to actually cause this change you will be ready for? Informing yourself will not cause change, these ideas have been around long before Peter Joesph

  • @shaktiX

The Monetary system is already imploding in on itself. I'd say that joining the Occupy movement is a step in the right direction now.

The major problem is that we still need a lot more people onboard. If "if everyone in the world got informed about whats happening and watched every Zeitgeist video made" AND if everyone(or most people) agreed with the ideas, then the change would happen right then and there. That's why I think spreading the word is good too.

  • @CingerNebojsa How is the monetary system imploding in on itself? Give me some reasons for why you think that way.

  • @IAM18YEARSOLDANDOVER

    1. Inflation

    2. Not enough money in circulation to pay off all the debt

    3. Automation is replacing human labor -> which decreases purchasing power of the fired human labour -> which decreases demand -> which decreases production -> Rince and repeat

#3 is the biggest reason, since it's in the Monetary systems nature to make things cheaper, so they automate things and fire paid humans, which hurts the economy.

There are more I can't think of.

  • @shaktiX But I understand what you're saying. It's tricky to prepare for something you don't quite know when will happen. The problem is we can't know exactly when. Positive modifications to the Monetary system can and will prolong it's lifespan, but ultimately it will collapse if not re-thought from the ground up.

  • Guys spread the word about Zeitgeist moving forward.

Make that video your favorite so it can get more views.

  • @smash1man well said, i spread the word about that movie-- specifically-- all the time. I feel its better to stay away from first movie because of the religious backlash, and by focusing on the main train of thought; i feel people can slowly evolve beyond those issues without feeling like its taking away their identity.
