Doris Day is a living legend. She was lucky to be born with talent and beauty, I read her autobiography and when she was a teen she walked her dog without a leash and tragically saw it get run over by a car. She was offered an honorary Oscar and turned it down, if anyone deserves an Academy Award it's her. In interviews she seems like such a grounded and sensible person. It's nice to know that she's still alive today on 2/24/11.
@MyAfterall Actually, she was the second person to be too classy to use "darkies". It was Ann Miller in Easter Parade who originally said "voodoos" instead of "darkies" and Doris Day agreed with her and decided to use her version :) Both do fantastic performances of this song :D

Interesting that the lyrics were changed to Voodoos instead of Darkies that were in the original Ruth Etting version
