Dont get ahead of yourself there your somehwat quik but hardly the fastest. i'm thinking i need to make some speed punch videos after seeing everyone being so boastful, and i wouldnt say im the fastest becouse i know what somebody could accomplish. Also theirs more to it then just that for speed training, training your bone will also increase speed of your arms and hands,The denser the bone the greater grade of muscle your bone can support.
@girtrute Find someone faster than me. Find someone faster than Bruce other than me; trust me it wont be easy, I have done my research and trained for speed non stop for about 2 years now. Also how do I make my bone denser?
@PsychoFlounder everyone tells me im defntly faster then that, but i dont like to boast and ive been training for nearly 25years.Well lifting weight and putting stress on the bone will make it denser but the muscle it grows will be more bloated slow u down,so people that lift weights have to stop weight lifting and tone there muscle down through speed excercise. But its basicaly bruising towards the bone,so hitting things and hitting your arms enough for only bruise damage not anything over board.
yes, I do find weight training slows me down, but any idea how to get that combination of speed and power? Is it a see-saw compromise relationship where one attribute is sacrificed for another, or can they both be trained independent of each other?
@12x12surface Weight training is always going to slow you down no matter what, but try to lift weights in a certain way so that your arms only get a certain size and stay that way. I had to drop the weights for a year to get this sort of speed, if I lifted I would be as fast as Bruce Lee, maybe slower. But I mean they are not independent of eachother. Speed=momentum=power. Combine them with strength, anaerobic capacity and whole body movement, you get one lethal weapon.
Thanks, BTW, 1:48 - what other exercises do you do to condition your elbows?
I also found out that as my strength increases, I have a greater possibility of injuring myself. Any tips for knees as well and just joints in general?
@12x12surface Just take it all slow man. Build yourself into it, if it hurts stop, then wait a couple days and then do it again.
Knees act the same way I guess as for the punching.
There are tutorials on how to strengthen your elbow muscles on youtube. As for the ligaments in your elbows it just means too take the punching drills easy, with larger recovery times.
@12x12surface This is why people need to focus alot on bone remodle training, as your strength increases your bones strength does not increase at the same rate of speed unless you do bone remodle training. as an adult your bone will naturaly obtain around 5%-10% more density towards the areas your constantly working without any extended training. But this is how most older styles avoid injury yet still preform amazing feats of damage.
thanks for tips. I Googled bone remodelling and found out that weight training provides some kind of bone remodelling. Looking back at your previous comments to PsychoFlounder, you talked about hitting things and bruising your bone slightly and letting it heal (stronger). That's my impression, am I right?
@12x12surface yea weight training has an affect on bone density through the constant pulling on it through weight lifting. but lifting affects the muscle/tendent more then the bone. Basicaly anything that can leave microscopic cracks in the bone will allow ectoplasma to build up and reconstruct the surface, like how regular plasma heals the cuts in are skin.so do alittle bit of watching others befor you get serious with it,becouse its important you dont over do it,till your far into it.
@12x12surface You can weight train for abit and bulk up alittle bit, then go back to speed training to begin densing the muscle up, that way you dont lose the strength and regain speed while also condensing the muscle to a smaller shape. Thats why some people can have smaller muscles but still lift the same weight as someones muscle thats bulky. Also its known that the stronger your bone becomes the greater grade of muscle it can carry befor it snaps.
@12x12surface you can gain about 25 pounds in weight training and then go back to speed training and reobtain the speed you had 20 pounds ago and keep the strength, you lose about 5 pounds of it speed training. Knee joints are the most delicate and realy arent anything strengthing for them other then your normal bending, best way to avoid knee joint injuries is to keep your weight down.
@PsychoFlounder by doing your excercises you where doing form of bone training but it hits plateau rather quik.the human bone is one the greatest remodleing type of bones.it is proven thats the stronger the bone the greater type of muscle it could hold, the muscle will not only be more dense itself, but it will also have a greater oxygen intake. But the holes in your bone will literally fill in,right now i can hit solid concrete no break with about 50% more then few times befor i actualy feal it.
@PsychoFlounder I'd say your around 135 weight boxers speed. which is fast but theres plenty people with much faster strikes on here. and bruce lee was hardly the fastest alive he had the fastest publicised speed.
Not bad, you've got some really fast hands there. Routines are pretty good. I'd like to point out though that there is a distinct difference in having fast hands and being able to apply power with them. I would put some plyometic exercises into your regime, and some bagwork.
Also (dont take offense, Im just picky), you cant create more fast twitch fibers. You cant create more muscle fibers at all. You can exercise the fast twitch fibers you already have specifically though.
@BlackDice572 That being said they tear and heal over stronger yeah?
Oh and this is just training for speed only. All that bag stuff is seperate. I did mention that bag training helps as well as other activities you can do to help speed and power of the punch at the end of the video.
You do know I have the fastest hands in the world right? I dont know ANYONE, that can punch 100 ms (milliseconds) other than me.
@PsychoFlounder - Yea, that's right. You obviously know what your doing anyway.
Although, fastest hands in the world, is a pretty bold statement. Was that verified by any particular means, or any particular organization? The Guinness Book of records says some chap called Ozuna took that particular title in 2008.
@BlackDice572 That chap Ozuna has a false record. With a jab at about 170 ms of his. Does not equal 43.3 MPH. It is an inaccurate calculation. UNLESS however they somehow caught the peak speed through distance by velocity, but with a punch thats 170 ms as opposed to a punch that is 100. I and many others would say my punch is a hell of alot faster. Also it has been compared with other people even with Bruce Lee that my punches have truned out faster. I can show you if you want.
@BlackDice572 Guinness world records have accepted my application for 'the fastest karate punch'. But I dont think they want a karate punch. I think they want a jab of some sort. I think MPH is an accurate speed testing formular for the record of the (Whole) of a punch; nor would I have the technology to deal with such a complex process at this present time.
What a fantastic video!!! Being a fan of punch speed and reaction times, I've yet to find a good instruction of how to get a punch to go fastest; now there finally is one, here. You have the fastest full jab I have ever verified on video. From chin guard to full extension in an AMAZING 110 to 115 ms!!! Most fast punchers I've checked in boxing and martial arts are in the 160 to 170 ms range. People don't realize how important it is to take off every ms they can off their punch. Bravo!
you're def fast for sure.
TIP:
1)just the act of contracting the hand to make a fist slows the punch down.
keep your hand open until impact.
many people get this wrong. They think that it's tensing of the arm only that slows punches...NOT TRUE.
YOU MUST KEEP HAND OPEN(not making fist.period).
making fist forces biceps to contest triceps during punch= SPEED REDUCTION.
also, not just enough to flick forearm outward, try flicking wrist in whip-like motion.
GOOD LUCK.
chrisgrinhard 1 month ago
@chrisgrinhard Flicking the wrist is loss of power.
I dont keep my hands open but relaxed till impact, it's all that matters.
PsychoFlounder 1 month ago
@PsychoFlounder ever tried throwing the entire body forward, into the punch as you tense the arm right at impact?
just asking, 1 martial artist to another.
anyway, keep training.
GOOD SPEED.
I thumbs up video.

@chrisgrinhard Actually yes I do, and in every punch. But only if I'm trying to punch something, or someone.
