Rigid physical training is really a requirement of being a milit.ary, isnt it stressful?

For a RANGER Yes! You need it for you will encounter far more harder problem when you pass Ranger School. For regular infantry it's easy. The fatigue and stress will make a RANGER, a warrior. But they will test you mentally before you qualify for RANGER School. If you fail you stay with the regular Army.
