  • I hoepe they use the technology to remove landmines alll over Vietnam. When I was a kied, I had to remove the landmines in the soil to sell copper content and it was no funn at all. I now type with one hand, so not good spelling you seee.

  • Was this English?

  • If we don't have enough work for normal human being. Why do we need them?

  • Why do we need robots? I can't find a logical reason.

  • @MrJamajo So they can become self-aware and take over, and then we can lament our own hubris at creating things we can't control, obviously.

Jeez, haven't you seen any scifi movies from the 50's?

  • ZAKBONG!

  • Blah blah beh blah blab bah blah blah!

  • first ping pong robot after that war robo soldier

  • Step1:mute

  • 0:17 LMFAO

  • toi ya ban!!!

  • Are you serious? Anyone with half a brain could outplay and outserve this contraption! Anyway... no one in this video seems at all impressed... except for the human player who seems to be overacting and letting the robot win...

  • Asimo will kick his ass with his vtec.

  • actually, topio 3.0 has less degrees of freedom than 2.0. 39 vs 42. However, he looks way more human, and wear sunglasses for some reason. And an 8-pack. abs, I mean. Other countries are offering to build on Topio, so obviously he is offering something very unique.

    I am impressed!

  • I bet the guy who made that robot felt stupid when he realised you could just put the opposite side of the ping pong table into the vertical posistion.

  • stupidity + racism = an idiotic jap...honestly, ur a disgrace to Japan.

  • Annoying asian, woman voice

  • Sosy Topio is getting better everyday.

  • These robots are getting closer to our way of thinking (hopefully not negative processing). Their movement is rather jerky, thou I sure these people in charge of building these units are very aware of this movement. I wonder if we are going to be able to handle the ramification of the whole outcome.

  • Hey can you let me know if you find any "TOPIO 3.0" footage? The new model looks way better!

  • looks retarded

  • So they wasted a lot of money and time on to this, for what purpose? It definitely isn't going to benefit the Vietnamese people at all.

  • you have a very short sight :) a pingpong robot or whatever is just something to show that they have ability and they can produce good robots . The main purpose of this company is producing and selling the industrial robots . Even if they only produce pingpong robots , why that is not good if people like and buy it ?

  • @boyboyboy711 What a way to prove your point, not even quoting the guy you were talking to so that he would never know you even said anything. Good going, idiot!

  • at 0:17 the guy failed epicly.

  • Correction " debut" not "deput"

  • Topio 3, the most advance version of this robot is capable of 100 degrees freedom in movements that will be more humanlike than it predecessors. Topio 3 will deput in 2009 INEX Japan this year,

  • It's great fun to watch a robot playing ping pong. But does anybody have a longer version? A few movements is certainly not good enough for commercial and entertainment purpose.

But it's great anyway. A Vietnamese robot is something unexpected. Although technically it needs to improve a great deal.

  • teivman, are you special? vietnamnet is country propaganda communist infested news, vietnam does not have independent news. If they were , there's should be honest critique, they could have written a few flaws already seen on youtube. first of all the robot perform kindergarten action, but the human players act its a tournament pong. seriously look at the robot, place in center of the table with flipping paddle. that is kindergarten, just like their other Toy product, a wheel! a boomerrang!!

  • If you read an article about Topio last year, you will see that Vietnamnet did not deny there was flaw to Topio 1.0. Exact quote from Vietnamnet, " The robot sometime failed to return balls, but regardless, the robot was a surprised to many people including the Japanese". The human players were merely to demonstrate for the audience and I highly doubt that they are professional table tennis players. Remember, I did not deny that the robot needs to improve its movement, but having a robot

  • returning volley is not a kindergarten task.

  • Latest news form Vietnamnet that Tosy, which is the company, will open stores in Germany, The Netherland, Belgium, France, Spain, and Japan. All of the toy components are made domestically in Vietnam. It will be toys that are made entirely in VN. No imported components.

  • Dude, how old are you? Wake up! Vietnam can NOT make any electronic component atm. All the important parts are imported. Only the design and programming is done in Tosy. And it happens all over the world. Nobody wants and has to produce everything.

  • I might not know much about VN. But the source that I took was from Vietnamnet. I took it exactly what is written. There is news that Volkswagen will open plants in VN and all of the parts will be made entirely in VN.

  • @vphuongdktdbk Dude, every part of Tosy is made in Vietnam!

  • eh. they capitalized on this great idea. but the robot is so kindergarten in movements. still need some japanese expertise, not just hand with paddle flapping.

  • The movement might need to be impoved, but its far from being kindergarten. The is a great first start for VN. Not too many developed countries can make robot . So this is a great accomplishment for VN. Topio 2.0 is much more improved compare with Topio 1.0. VN as a country might not be comparable with more advanced developed countries in term of technology, but individually we have people that have talent and intelligent that can do great things.

  • You made the point, lol. Everywhere I go, I realized that Vietnamese are very individual, not like Chineses, Latina Americans or Europeans. One of us may be good, but two of us can not be compared with two from another country, for example Germany. No. :)

  • Yes, I agree.

  • you are right on this. Anyway I like the man who made that robot. It looks great and i expect the company will do good business in that way.

  • This is the new version " Topio 2.0" which look more like human than "Topio 1.0". Thanks for this video. I was searching for this video too. So far they have sold a hundred of Topio 1.0 already.

  • Where do you get that information? As far as I know, only one Ameriacan company offered to buy Topio 1.0 to upgrade it but Tosy didnt sell. If anybody bought and opened the v1.0, they would have laughed their a** off :P

  • I got the news from Vietnamnet.

  • I just want to know how impressive it is to the Germans.

  • TOSY has not been good at PR to the public , except a few articles in newspaper.

  • Maybe the robot is not really good and it is not the proper time to draw more public attention.
