Nice tutorial and thanks for showing the part about how to switch the plates :D I'm thinking about changing mine , I would change the art but it's the chun li and it's look so bad ass haha
How would you go about swapping the art work on an SE stick? I got the wwe brawl stick for christmas which is the same size as the sf4 se stick, I plan on swapping the art and putting sanwa buttons
tip #1...do NOT remove the buttons with a screw driver. you will end up forcing it too hard and push the piece, that keeps the buttons in, too far and break it and will end up going inside the button and get it stuck and you can no longer press the button. luckily for me it was one of the extra 2 buttons that i broke (which i can give 2 shits about. i ended up removing by hand the rest of the way...
is there a specific size that the image has to be? Looks to me that the TE is bigger then a normal piece of printer paper. (could be a trick) but if there is a "preferred" size would be great
i really love the artwork, i'm just wondering, how did you customize it and what type of material did you use to make it? thank you :) going to replace my stock artwork. :)
If i have a ps2 joystick and use an adapter for PS2controllers -TO-ps3 [usb] will my full backwards compatible fat ps3 recognize the controller to use with ps2 games while being played in the ps3??? D: sorry for my bad english
Okay, this is probably going to be a really dumb question, but I don't have a TE yet, so I would love to know more about modding it...
Rather than placing new artwork on it, I was hoping to have just a plain black top panel. Do you think there would be a problem reinstalling the stick or the buttons if I were to just spray paint the preinstalled panel black after removing the artwork?
@FeltAndFrets Unless you sand the panel properly, coat it with several layers of primer, sand that, coat it with black paint, then several clear coatss, it'll all rub off with use.
@loool183 I forget the name of the tool since i just happened to have it included in a old tool box. It's a head to a interchangeable screw driver.
You can really design your own artwork, or get high res images online, then in photoshop size it to a template you can also find online. Save as a 300dpi .tiff or .PDF from photoshop. You can go to a local print shop, or fed ex office/kinkos and print it on 80-90 pound card stock.
@DaShonuff You have 8 points where the stick can be pushed to, stock gate has 4. Some people say circular motion moves in fighting games are easier with the octo-gate because it has more points for better accuracy carrying out the right moves.
@RRReviews Not much to suggest really, it's the same exact process. Depending on what stick you ordered, you may/may not need an adapter to make it fit.
Oh, so this is why i get my ass kicked on ssf4 :(, how is that fair when i play online with my ps3 pad against some dude with one of these arcade sticks?,..damm cheats :(
What games can i play with a street fighter or mortal kombat arcade stick, i know beat em ups, some Sega Genesis and shooters, but i mean like other fighters: like
@aquapyro1 Really any fighting game can be used with an arcade stick, usually between games though you'll change up some settings since some games have different button configurations or layouts.
Also, I created that piece in Adobe photoshop CS5.
At 3:14 "I laminated it using my special machine" i loled at that. What is your special machine?? i would love to make a custom artwork but would be perfect to have a pro work like yours.
what is it that I have to do to put my artwork on my TE stick? I heard something about going to Kinkos and having it laminated or w/e, but how would it have the adhesive on the other side. Any tips would be appreciated.
I have heard you can mod you mad catz xbox 360 arcade stick so it can work on the ps3 is there a way you could do a tutorial on this please. Much appreciated thank you
@cuahtblanco its called dual moding. its VERY hard for you average joe and it would PROBABLY just be better to get a new pre-dual modded stick as it is
@ozzyo602 Yep, it's pretty difficult, but there are some kits which are easy. Most of them are easier if your stick is made for xbox in the first place. If not though and you want a nice stick from out of the box, just get a Quanba, they use all Sanwa parts and recently released a PC/360/PS3 compatible stick.
@jiraiyasama13 If you watch earlier in the video, I took a flathead screw driver and "unscrewed" the shaft from the ball top. The balltop then fully pops out. Once the balltop is off, you can just use a philips and take all 4 mounting screws off.
@ishinoe I myself own and use a canon digital imagepress c4. But you can just go to any good print shop or fedex office store and have them print your artwork. The laminated material is from a xyron proffesional laminator, costs about $500 to purchase one.
If you mean the hate restrictor, yes/no. It's a personal prefrence. As far as the joystick and buttons themselves, they're pretty much the best out there currently. Replacing them would only be for color customization.
The song is Adagio For Strings by DJ Tiesto in case anyone was wondering

@WasItTehChad The templates you'll find online are larger than 8.5x11 and will need to be printed on 11x17 paper at 300dpi and 100% size. No scaling!

Great Video. Two questions:
1. How can I get some custom artwork? Can you buy that double sided material you used? What are the dimesions of the image you need to print out?
2. What if I want to put a bat top on my joystick? Can I just buy any Sanwa bat top?
Thanks
