Ever since I heard "Last Kind Word Blues" on the movie "Crumb," I've been a big Geeshie Wiley fan. Too bad there's very few recordings. Good job by the way!
Excellent version of this unusual and great song. Your vocal and guitar work have captured the spirit of the original. You did a very nice job of bending the blues notes in your vocal, which is not always heard.
great song ...singing and performance ...!!

Can you give us the lyrics to this song? There are some words I can't make out. Thanks!

There's a word limit that prevents me posting the lyrics, but the three most difficult lines I believe (after a LOT of research and listening) are:
"I want you to send my body, send it to my mother-'n-law"
"When you see me comin', look 'cross the rich man's field
And if I don't bring you flour, I'll bring you bolted meal."
"Lord, precious daughter, don't you be so wild"
I hope this helps.

I interpret the following..."send it to my mother-'n-law"...as "send it to my mother, Lord"

The voice on that video is perfect for that particular song. Good all around performance.
