love your car i have a turbo street glass buggy and have a best run of 6.6 1/8 and 10.6 1/4 with a 1915 engine my goal is to run like yours. have you ever made a 1/4 run? check out mine in 10 sec street buggy
@zonacaliente I do not own this car. This car belongs to a friend of mine. To my knowledge he has not run the 1/4. The car is geared to run the 1/8 mile.
awesome engine, but where's the exhaust waste gate? maybe you control boost with a BOV or something like that. keep up the good work. oh 1 more question, Is it REALLY only a 1641cc ?? :-)
No waste gate,works well without one for 5 years now.(Remember the green street legal bug Adam drove to the races and ran low 8's? Same basic engine.)
Adam's big brother had a fellow dispute the integrity of the fact that it is indeed a 1641 last year- and offered to knock a cylinder head off and hand him a caliper. It was a "spirited" conversation. CW 69 crank, 87 bore (Mahle p&c)
This engine is @ 8 to 1 Compression ratio. Turbo engines like lower compression, as larger cylinder volume creates more power under boost pressure. It sprays a small Motorcycle shot to intercool the boost. The actual boost is a big secret, but it is greater than 25 PSI. The Hyper bug ran 6.36 (1/8)July 13 on a far less than ideal track surface prep.( Spinning in 1st and 2nd gear.)
