For all the bike v car spazzettes, bikes are faster through long sweeping bends, cars are faster through the tight bends, traction is the key. Either way both riders and driver where good. It was a knee down show off vid anyway, not a fastest lap job! Cheers for the ace vid lads, makes me want to fast forward 6 weeks ;-)

Because it is so dangerous, 100's of people have crashed their cars and bikes because they do what Youtube veiwers expect, they drive/ride on the limit. Motor homes, buses, Volvos, good drivers, slow cars, fast bikes, crash barriers, trees. Not a place for heroes. People are seriously injured and even killed. This is not play station. For all you dicks who want more than this, go and do it yourself. The real world is not Playstation nor Youtube, nor the internet bull shitters. Hit armco = hurt.

It is mainly used as a business enterprise charging anybody with just about any road registered vehicle to do a circuit. It is not a race track as such. People doing laps are not racing for the crown jewels. They are just riding or driving fast but always keep a bit in reserve. The times are not official and cameras and timed laps are discouraged.
not every bike mate, 0-60 a frickin SIX HUNDRED will beat it (most do it in 2.8 versus the Mac's 3.2) - top end of course the Mac beats any proddy bike but then, u hafta remember that there hasn't REALLY been a bike thats been properly tuned for top end yet, actually no wait, the Y2K will do 250mph, which for all intents and purposes is the same as the Veyron, but the Y2K's been around for years!

It's 9.18 from Bridge to Bridge, to get the time for a full round (the "Döttinger Höhe" is closed) you have to add about 20 secs. I'm sorry, 9.18 BtoB / 9.28 for a full round is NOT fast on the ring. Please let me show you a video response, a damn WarmUpLap with just a GSXR-600 and at least same traffic, it's almost 1 Min. faster...Anyway 4*s

The uncultured Yorkshire man in the Porsche filming with all his 'F' words should have advised his driver to keep the air out. There was a lot of buffeting and turbulence going on there. They might as well have been paragliding. The other guys in their Porsches were not a good comparison since they were clearly office guys in suits doing a bit of sight seeing. They were there simply so that they could return to their city jobs claiming they've been to the ring. LoL
Bellof's Porche was class-C racing car, F1 with a fairing. If you crash on Ring with a car, you lose a car but if you crash the bike, you are dead (usually). That makes a biig difference in lap times.
I belive porshe has the fastest nurburg ring lap by Stephan Bellof at 6.11 .,Patric Simon later on did another reckord on a diferent RUF at 7.63.11,Bikes best time is 7.49 , Super cars will allways have the upper hand over any super bike at the Nurburgring as far as i know.(but i don't care love bies more than any car).
Always thought bikers preferred the Ring... Looked a good crack although all this biker chat re: bikes faster than cars... At the Nurburgring never, they can't carry the corner speed and they struggle to stay hard on it with the dips/crests. I should know I shat myself the other day trying out a record run on my Tomos chaser - ZX-10's are for girls.

Not by a little but 15 or 20 mph faster "in the turns". Modern tire technology. My old bikes could never beat sports cars.

u r just a typical car lover who doesn't understand bikes. even if sports cars (really expensive ones) have a better top speed than bikes sitting on a bike doing 180 is a lot scarier than doing 200 sitting in a car. i bet u would be sht scared riding a 50cc scooter round the ring twat.

As for bike v car, cars corner faster than bikes, bikes kill cars in acceleration. It comes down to the track and most tracks lean towards bikes.

FYI the lad can ride and his best time is a 8.34 this was a film lap not a all out timed lap, thought that was plain to see, we were having FUN

...an 8:34 in traffic too. Clarkson et al generally get a little more space in front so that they can avoid being slowed up.
