I remember when I lived in the South traffic would always back up all the way to Douglas Glen all the way to a think the Anderson turn off then it frees up but it gets congested again with people coming from Southland. I usually only had to get to McLeod in the mornings
@quadraxis45 Its not the highway, its the drivers. Some ppl drop to 50k as soon as there are more than 3 other cars and it holds it all up - ive been to large cities in the states with almost identical highways, the ppl there have realized that if every1 knows how to drive u don't have to slow down like that - if only ppl here could drive
As a motor coach driver I spend a lot of time on Deerfoot and see no logical reason for traffic like this. It is usually caused by rubberneckers gawking at accident on the other side of the free way or some bozo in the left lane slamming on his brakes because he was not paying attention and almost missed his exit. Of course the logical thing to do would be is to take the next exit and double back. But people are to self centred to do that.
Well most of it is because of the lane reduction in places... on some parts of the deerfoot its 4 lanes and then all of the sudden its 2? Like come on. Thats one of the reasons.
