I think SDA is what my father took up after he became disillusioned about Jehova's witnesses while my mother stayed on as a JW. He gave his life in the greatest show of love that has ever been expressed in this world. He died to pay the price for our sins so that we might be saved. @goldmakers Actually Paul`s point in the passage you're referring to in Colossians is that you should not let any man judge you for KEEPING these; for stopping from work on the Biblical days of rest, eating meat, etc. Read the whole chapter carefully. Note: He starts off warning us about mans traditions! The sabbaths are not man`s traditions. They are G-d-given. But don't get me wrong, I'm not affiliated with SDAs.

I believed for over 10 years as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that Satan was my scapegoat and that Jesus would put my confessed sins on Satan’s head and he would be punished and die for them because Ellen G. White said so. I made the mistake of trusting her as my authority. The result of using her as an authority "the lesser light" to the Bible, gave me a false understanding of the work of my Savior in saving me. I have since left the SDA and now Jesus is my complete Saviour.

Adventists have this delusion that just because they get out of bed every Sabbath, get dressed up in a suit or dress, attend a building with other Adventists, sing a song or two, tithe, gossip a bit about each other, hear a sermon, and go home, that magically they are now perfect Sabbath and Law keepers and saved by God based on their weekly Sabbath works! They are deceived with legalism and in reality they have 2 Saviors, part Jesus and part themselves and their own Sabbath keeping!

Many of my fellow SDA Sabbath keepers keep the law as to the best of they're knowledge. Until we abide in what we have been given we will not be given more light then we are ready for.  And if honoring the 4th commandment Saturday Sabbath as a sanctified day is legalism then Sunday observance is simply illegal. Where did my God and his apostles teach such things?

I was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination for 12 years but I have now resigned my membership because I came to understand and realise that I am saved by faith and grace alone, not by works or personal Sabbath keeping that the SDA teach. I teach the gospel of justification, sanctification and righteousness by faith alone. But now most Adventists call me a child of Satan. Once I came out of Babylon/SDA I am set free in the grace and righteousness of Christ. Praise Jesus!

Adventists will always give LIP SERVICE and say, "I am saved by grace alone". But then when you ask them, "So if you stopped attending Church every Sabbath for the rest of your life, will you still be saved by grace alone and enter heaven?"

Then Adventists begin to twitch, look confused, even get angry and defensive, and the typical answers are, "Hmm, not sure", "Don't know", "No, I need to keep Sabbath to avoid the Mark of the Beast". So what happened to saved by grace alone? I rest my case!

I believe in obedience to the 10 Commandments - but I do not believe like the SDA that my obedience contributes to me GETTING saved [Justification], STAYING saved [sanctification] now or later. If you read Galatians 4:21 and then Gal 3:1-3 with an open mind you will see that the FALSE GOSPEL that Paul opposed so vehemently was this: You initially get saved by faith in Jesus PLUS my own efforts. Jesus PLUS anything else to get saved or stay saved is the legalism of the first century.

I once had a boyfriend who was a SDA. He would bible bash me into the faith. I found that EGW was made up as though she was a prophet and everyone believed in her writings. He told me that the earth will end (this was in 1993) and God will give true christians a thousand year rule. I am still waiting for this to happen. My opinion of this Religion is that they are preaching a fairy story based an old book. I just wish that the SDAs would think for themselves as to the true faith !

SDA theology : You cannot be saved unless you observe or 'keep' the Jewish Sabbath. ( whatever that means ) as they define it.. Works righteousness system that denies that Christ paid the price for your sins on the cross. E.G. White states He only paid a 'down payment' but the rest is up to you, and how well you perform the law. Door of Mercy?
