  • Sweet, we have lots of GMD1 switching our tankers at the refinery that I am currently working for. Love their horns!

  • Best GMD1's were in the pre 1985 era, when they had their A1A trucks for use on 60lb prairie branchlines

  • @TrainmasterCurt I agree. I only saw pictures of them. Wish I had the op to photograph them. Thanks for watching...

  • My favourite locomotive!!

  • These GMD-1's were really the oddities of the CN.. They look and sounded great. Thanks for sharing.

  • Cool! Thanx fur sharin'!

  • @Jack

    Is that an ALCO product?

  • Actually, it's an Electro-Motive Division product.

  • @revolution1one Close, it's a GMD General Motors Diesel of London, Ontario

  • Jack, You and a couple other guys on youtube always manage to capture the sounds perfectly. Sir, my hats off to you. In my humble opinion sound is most important as the video its self. At least in regards to the visually impaired. 5 stars.

  • Great capture, Jack. These units are one fine breed indeed.
