great haul. Now that i think of it, i am rather envious because while the Mark III versions had meaningful box art (some of which are taken from the original arcade flyers), the Sega Master System covers were rather bland with just a graphic or two in front of a white and black grid.
I've really been getting back into the Master System. It would be really interesting to replay those classics with the FM sound of the Japanese system.
Man, Zoom 909 is a really old game. It was called Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom in the states in the arcade.
Gorgeous stuff there dude, you did really well with that lot. I can not really say I am a master system fan but when games are presented that nicely there must be that spark of joy when you strike one up and get into the groove of moving extremely blocky small sprites around the screen to lip curlingly awful music. In some cases, I mean LOL!!!! Knowing your good taste though man, I'm sure there are some gems in there!!
@futurematt5 The graphics on some of the older games and especially the SG-1000 stuff are pretty dated but still very cool and playable. I love chiptunes so for the most part the music is pretty decent but the games that use the FM sound chip are quite impressive for the time and I think still sound great to this day. I'm still making my way through testing out all these new games but yes there are some gems for sure.
Shit man that is one crazy package video i wouldnt like to think how much it cost! im waiting to find the mark III with fm module included so i dont have to hunt it down separately.
@amurphy245 Is there a reason you want the Mark III with FM module over a Master System? I really like the style of the Mark III but from what I've seen the FM module is pretty rare and combined would probably be more expensive than a Master System.
Very impressive package man! Always thought JP MS box art looked so much better than what we got really. Some real classics there, the cover art of Shinobi is gorgeous IMO! Looks like an acrylic/col' pencil piece maybe, can imagine this epic load has had you reliving some classy memories! :D
@MENDEZ1628 Hey thanks a lot! I agree, it's kind of weird that the system box looks very similar to the US release but the game boxes are worlds apart, I wonder why? I use to have a US Master System with a stack of games but sold it years ago. I kind of like how the US games came in plastic cases but the artwork was so weak I'd take the JP versions over them any day. I've been slowly cleaning, testing and playing the games and having a blast doing so.
OK, i've been watching these typs of videos for years now. But i must say, this is probably the most impressive package vid i've ever seen. Im just stunned, amazing stuff. So many awesome shooters to boot. Superb pickup mate. That's for sure! =D
Definitely the most epic find from you Boss! Amazing lot. Not only there's so many games that came with it, but it's all boxed and complete! It's darn hard to find these, even on Yahoo Auctions Japan! Congrats man.. The JP SMS is definitely the most superior SMS out there =) I look forward to see some gameplay (especially Rygar)
Have fun Boss! (Damn.. you even found the JP 3D Glasses)
@PhatPhunk Thanks Phat! I was really happy there weren't any sports games in there. I think only one or two are very Japanese text heavy, the rest are totally playable. Getting about 90% of the lot boxed and complete was a big plus. When I cracked open the system box everything was still in plastic and the system and controllers still had that plastic protective film covering the shiny parts and the manual was still taped sealed in a baggie.
lol i do have a double of wonderboy in monster land i liked that game so much. i would love to find another hookup like Risingstuff but thers a few places left but not that cheap. i might buy one of their 400 dollar bundles one day lol
That was definitely an epic pickup. I'm a huge Sega Master System fan myself, and you've just inspired me to start collecting the Japanese games as well. Can't wait to see your future videos.
@TaylorHall2010 Hey man, thanks for the sub and the comment. The Japanese Master system is pretty rad, keep in mind though that the games aren't compatible with a US/Euro system.
@vinnieblacklodge Thanks Vinnie, I though you'd like this lot. You're one of the few guys I know with a Japanese Master System. There's some really great games for the system and I love how it's backwards compatible with the older Sega systems games.
@BossBossly ima have to favorite this one and watch it again in the morning lol ^^ awesome package i love the gold series carts and the look of them and all ^^ this is a collection i would love to expand on but risingstuff was the only place i ever found with decent prices on boxed jsms games.
@vinnieblacklodge Yeah I really like the packaging on them too. I think it's kind of funny that all but two of the games released were gold series carts. Raisingstuff was a good source for JSMS games, too bad I didn't have the system when I was making orders with them. Ebay has some games but the prices aren't that great for the most part.
Damn bro, with all you're Japanese games that you keep picking up you probably have more than me which is strange because I'm over here lol. Very awesome pick up there, like you said, pretty much a "Master Collection" there. Two thumbs up on the lot!
@lukemorse1 Thanks man! I could only imagine the kind of stuff I'd be bringing home if I was over there. I've seen you and some other guys find some wicked deals in the "recycle" shops and on Yahoo Japan. Sometimes though it seems some items demand a higher price in shops over there than they do here in the states.
@fakeplasticball: Ashura was brought over as Rambo First Blood: Part II. The maze game is Maze Walker (aka Maze Hunter 3-D), the game with the schoolgirls is Sukeban Deka II, the My Card that you thought was Kung Fu Kid is actually Dragon Wang, and the construction game is Rock 'N Bolt. The white loose cart is Makai Retsuden, which was released as Kung Fu Kid elsewhere.
