  • well definitely not a low-rent neighborhood huh? ...lol

  • @EvanQuinn07 not by a long shot. You don't even want to know what prices are in the high-rent neighborhoods. :)

  • that is a small kitchen, ...what could I expect to pay in rent in nyc for an apt, that small?

  • @EvanQuinn07, this is actually a pretty good sized apartment for NYC. Since this apartment is not in a 'high rent' area area of Manhattan like mid-town, you could probably rent something similar for $1800-$2600/month depending on the specific building and area of the city.

  • @gotoguyenterprises so something with say 3 bedrooms and room to move around in; say in the Dakota...would be several k per month? ...how about a small apt on the west side of the park around the 70's? ( is that considered midtown? ...the 70's?)

  • @EvanQuinn07 , that $1800-$2600 figure is for a 2 bedroom place up in the 190's and 200's.

On the Upper West Side, the rents in a good building would be higher. $1800 would be more likely to get you a one room efficiency apartment. A 2BR in the 70's would run you $2800-$10,000/month. The closer you get to the park, the higher the price.
