The man getting tortured is a good actor but the others were a little shy in front of the camera. . They seemed like they didn't have enough time to build up a back story to their characters which made their motivation seem skin deep and false. The Director shouldn't have to work on a back story, though he or she should have some Idea were the character is going and should give the actors direction if the performance is stiff. . .

Not half bad... Kid on the floor = best job~especially for improv. Might've considered pain/reaction ratio differently... Torturer~not convincing in any way. Chic in chair=the worst. Consider the definition of empathy, and how women typically react. For a lesson, go try hanging out in a labor ward at any hospital. The screams will scare you to death.

There actually weren't any ... we all knew there was a time limit, so we all took it very "seriously",well, ... for the most part. This was the second take (we only got two). The first one was fine but you could sometimes see that the guy on the floor's hands weren't really tied that well (sorry to spoil the illusion). Maybe if I put it to music or something, it would be funny ... I don't know.

Yeah, it's my fault as the "director"; I should have worked more with her on her performance. Unfortunately, I really didn't have any idea of what I had until I started editing the scene. But I'm glad you liked the other actor!

Yeah, I couldn't decide if I wanted to leave that bit with the kick in: there wasn't a good reaction shot of the guy on the ground because this was mostly improvisation (surprise!) and he couldn't tell that he was being "kicked". What I should have done is add a sound effect of him being kicked; I think that would have made it better. Maybe, I'll do an extended cut with more effects . . . ?-doubtful though. But thanks for the comment!

I have to say this is my favourite of all your works. Then the crash scene (we both know my feelings on the girl inturrupted one :P ). Its cool to see something that you guys divised. One of my favourite lines in this is the second time the 'bad guy' says " One by one" I don't know if its cause I'm from NZ but the way he says it is funny. It suits his character. If he wasn't torturing, this character he's created seems great for comedy..if that makes sense

Stage combat classes could've helped with this but of course as you said they're not trained actors. The editing flows quite nicely too for an improvised scene. Your main actor should think about acting he's got talent, I'd like to see him in another role. Both the male characters have potential. Great work :)(P.s 2:37-end were amazing GREAT shot & sustain you could see his thought processes with his breathing and tension & release in his body SO well.)

The main guy was incredible he stayed in the scene throughout the piece. In scenes like this, especially for people who aren't trained actors, it's quite easy to snap out of these sort of characters but it was great. I would'nt have known it was improv at all. The "bad guy" was pretty good till he tried to kick him he didn't really seem to know what to do with his hands at times, he'd make offers like hold the back of "good guys" head then he would'nt follow through.
