  • Thanks for posting this Ted, I've never had him before, definitly a great player with a lot of influence on many other players although not widely credited.

  • @scottduncan44 You're very welcome

    Peace,

    Mike

  • allenshaw6970 writes: had a 45 rpm "lafayette's a comin" on the CAT label (Lafayette Thomas) anyone have info on that recording????

  • @allenshaw6970 I wish you still had the 45 because none of the discographies show any releases for him on Cat. It was originally issued on Savoy 1574. Recorded in NYC July 27, 1959 with Sam Price on piano, John "Bucky" Pizzarelli on bass and Joe Belton on drums.

  • Lafayette Thomas is one of the doggone hottest guitar players of 'em all... the biggest talent deserving wider recognition... what a cut!

  • The THANG used to hangout in San Francisco on 3rd street ,,at Guitar Curtis's house ,,I was a young kids .. I was trying to learn how to play bass at the time . There were 3 guitar players and me . 1. The Pollcat , 2.Guitar Curtis 3. The Thang . I would have to go home ,,but after school i would make my way back to the house . They were still playing the blues in between short naps,,they all loved to drink alittle bite ,lol,

  • Never heard this one before...nice one! Thanks!
