If we wanted the abolish the Post offcie it would have to be Amended to the constitution because it is in the constitution for the federal goverment to establish post offices and Benjamin Franklin was our first post master general. So it would be unconstitutional to aboilish it plus. do you know any country which has a privately run postal service? I don't.

Actually by Federal Law the US Postal Office in the only one that can charge money for letters. The others are not allowed to charge money for letters.
