  • The first lift the box is empty, so it is 8 lbs (because the box weighs 8 lbs and the protocol calls for a start weight of 8 lbs for females). The second lift the evaluator added 5 lbs to the box - so the weight of the box plus the 5 lbs equals 13 lbs. Per the instructions for the Progressive Isoinertial Lift protocol, each time the evaluator increases the weight, it must be by 5 pounds. The evaluator must first, however, ask if the client feels that he/she is able to safely lift more weight.

  • How much did she lift in the first and second time, can anybody tell me??? She looks like a pretty strong girl despite lifting the wrong way.

  • During a Functional Capacity Evaluation the evaluator is not supposed to tell the client exactly how to lift, unless it is very unsafe and he/she knows the client will hurt him/herself. One of the goals is to see if the client has good body mechanics. After the test is done, then the evaluator could show what good techniques are. So, the video is NOT to show what good lifting technique is; instead it is to show how to perform a Progressive Isoinertial Lift Evaluation Test for an FCE. Thanks!

  • This video is terrible. Such poor lifting technique! That girl is going to hurt her low back!
