Those arrow-moving buttons seem pretty bad for playing this kind of game. A virtual pad like in the Hero of Sparta would be better.

I get to a certain point in the game and I get a stupid message that says 'for registered users only, call 1800 id games. What the hell is that?

because the game includes the shareware files

Does that mean I have to pay to use the game after a certain point? Or should I ignore those messages and keep playing? I just think it's silly to have to pay for a 10 year old game.

you can replace the shareware files for the retail files

Quake 1 is one of my alltime favorite games, and the basic idea to have it on the iPhone is great, it runs smoothly too - but the controls just plain SUCK ... it would help a little if a strafe-function was added ... and i guess still : it would be hard as hell if there are more enemies at once :(

I have it and the controls really aren't that bad, even when their are multiple enemies. You get used to them after a while.

If you have the Cydia installer, open it and search it. Then once you found it press: install. It will begin downloading at once.

ps: anyone know where I can find the Simport software?
