if mel gibson or anyone wanted to make a movie about ancient civilization they would consult historians and archeologists and geologists, etc. to make it as accurate as possible, and give me a f**king break this culture and every other culture has had their share of shitty times where we have all performed some kind of atrocity, i guess a lot of people think that the mayans were perfect little angels, im willing to doubt that lmao, either way hey maybe they were as evil as it gets or maybe not.

the more i read about how this movie is "racist" just pisses me off even more... lets see i believe the director was not trying to portray ancient culture in any sort of historically accurate representation... he merely made a f**king move, wow! are you people serious, and what about other movies where a specific group of people is doing bad things as a group? why does everything get turned into "racism" it sounds like to me some people are way too "into" them selves don't be so vain its a movie

you know what is really sad, is that basically most of everyone posting about this has missed the complete point of the movie... what is up with that? there are many lessons in the movie... I don't think he was trying to be historically accurate, or be like some kind of historian here, but man has been beyond cruel in our brief history... just like we are bickering about the dumb stuff now when there was a hugely profound lesson to underneath it all...plus the whole story was very very awesome!

Mayas didn't have all those piercings... Mel Gibson didn't get informed about this amazing civilization so much, for them being sacrifice was a bless instead they show as if it was cruelty... good movie but doesn't talk about real Maya civilization

his architecture was wrong too. the style he features in the move was already long gone for about 600 yrs by this time. the movie disappointed me. he should stick to underling satanic themes in christian movies lol

the song is actually called Wings For Marie, not St Marie, not trying to be a -hole about it, just respectful to the artist, i think there is one more song about his mom besides Pt. 2 and Judith, maybe " Jimmy", i would have to look up the lyrics again, great choice of song for this vid.

Maynard is a proper name but it is also an older word for calling someone a 'stick in the mud' or a loser etc. Tt was during his time in the military that he adopted the sobriquet "Maynard" on a whim.
