many people like myself keep the bass tuned to DGCF, and just use different fret positions. Once you learn the neck tuning is not a factor since you already know what fret is gonna produce what note.

my friend also flipped a tbird his handle is pbrocker56 but he also flipped the nut and restrung it. I play inverted so I could sell it to a righty tomorrow, and they could just play it out of the box. and you are semi right, a beautiful bird? perhaps, but I have 2 other non-epi/Gib tbirds I like a lot better, I use them a lot in many of my videos.

sure but the bass is just tuned down a whole step DGCF, so i'm still playing the same thing a whole step up on each fret position. some people use DADG instead of DGCF.

My main instrument is the trombone anyway, so I do have musical experience, just none with any string instruments.

it's a good unit for what it is, strings are low enough and good intonation. the 3 point bridge was good, although when i got it, i took everything apart and glued the studs into the body just in case..never loosened up on me yet, only bitch would be to try to get them out if I replaced the bridge and filled in the wood holes, it will adjust up and down fine still.

I would never consider the EPI junk, just cheap, I only paid 150 for it used, and it is just my show-off playtoy. I never use it on stage or for recording, I have an expensive

Jackson and Dillion TBIRDs that were "not cheap" for my #1 basses :)

one thing about it, since the pickups are junk, it has a tone that I cannot get out of the others, and for "some" music, it fits in perfectly.
