  • This song was recorded just up the street from the first house I ever lived in. I kid you all not, it was recorded in a town Called Rancho Cucamonga on the street corner of Archibald and Haven where a flower shop called "Archibald flowers" now exists. It happened before I lived near there though.

  • I used to play this song every morning on the way to work - at the Post office.  I was the fastest worker on record! I could get my route sorted, delivered and be BACK before the next one left. I worked to this pace all day, every day. It was AWESOME!

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!!! I was a teenager in the 60's and this was one of the best instrumentals of the time. The full version of Surfer Joe is also great!!!!

  • Whenever I hear this song, I remember the days I spent as a kid watching Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez running, with the Babe Ruth signed baseball, away from "The Beast" in the movie, "The Sandlot". It's funny how music can help you to hold onto childhood memories.

  • all I can say is when I go to a club that has a live band I judge their playing by whether or not they can play wipe out! I have loved this song since I was about 6 yrs old (back in the 60s)

    "Wipeout". I'm realizing again that's it really is a bitchin' song. Next I've got to hear "Surfer Joe". After that I'm pulling out my copy of the Surfaris' "Hit City 64".

  • @nixjag1 Excellent post. Hit City 64 is a great album. Pay close attention to Scatter Shield and Scratch. Excellent songs. We still perform Scatter Shield these days.
