When mcain announced palin as his running mate, i had a sense of fear that lasted about two or three days. Then she spoke and said some things that were a little extreme,and she's been getting worse ever since. For a brief moment though she had her chance. "Exceptionalism" in this context doesn't mean "extra special good", it means that there are some who believe that the US has a role or even duty to play in world affairs which is disproportionate.
