Such valuable information for writers and those suffering from depression. The Confessions of Nat Turner is my Styron favorite. I'm ever grateful for his military service as well. He's an American southern voice in literature that we greatly cherish and will deeply miss.

RIP William Styron... sophie's choice changed my life... made me a reader....wow what an experience that was... those few days of reading that book... felt like id lived a whole lifetime... Thank You Sir.

he was a great man. darkness visible was a pretty harrowing account of his depression. I sympathize with his problems. R.I.P.

What an intelligent, compassionate man. At least he seems to be! I first read 'Darkness Visible' when I was sixteen and suffering from an episode of major depression with anxiety. I think it saved my life and I'm still very grateful to Mr Styron.

Thank you for Posting this - I hadnt actually seen anything of him in actual video to this point - Im related to him in some way or another - I too am a Styron - His passing saddened me because I had always hoped to find out the connection - I've read his work and I admire him - thank you again for Posting this

William and my Grt grand mother Leola Ross Nelson Johnson are cousins and I regret to hear he passed away. They are related in the Nelson, Fulford and Styron lines from Virginia and Carteret Co.,NC. I love and cherish my copy of Shadrach and have watch this video with my family in order for them to see the times in the 30's. I can help you, email me
