  • Wow. I live right there. People have always used this area to commit suicide by train. I remember just a few years ago when a young woman in her third trimester of pregnancy jumped in front of a train just north of Hollywood Blvd early one morning. Unfortunately people that have lived around here for so many years have become accustomed to it. Just another news story.

  • Must've thought the tracks were a red carpet

  • well that was the best time to rob a bank!

  • Dang Allot of Police cars! Good catch!

  • Who the hell sits on railroad tracks? We aren't talking La-Z-Boy here.

Oh well, more chlorine for the gene pool. They should hang what's left of trespassers at railroad crossings as an important safety message.

  • That is one of your nightmares as an engineer!

  • years ago when my dad worked for the city of compton . they had a guy put his head down on the rail. and ironically it was two blocks from the police station. no cops anywhere beforehand

  • why did they send out the c.s.u.? not like the crew intentionally hit the guy the dumbass wouldnt move out of their way hear the engineer say it himself

  • what train hit the person? (company lol is what im lookin for)

  • that was FEC (Florida East Coast Railway) Train 226. That's in the first paragraph of the description.

  • @SFLRailFan ahhh ok thanks im not good with all these dam train company intials espec since i dont live in Florida..

  • The tow truck hauling away the car with the alarm still going off was kinda funny though!

  • Definently not the way I'd want to go. You could feel the traumazitation in the engineer's voice at the very beginning. I don't think most people truly realize how gut-wrenching it is for the crew when they hit something. Very nice catch. I also wouldn't want the job of having to remove (or should I say scraping) the remains up off the track and everywhere else.

  • Well I guess somebody accedentally the whole thing agiain...

  • Intresting video, Ted. Great work here. Trespassers seem to be somewhat of a pandemic to the railroads. So many times I hear of Tri-Rail trains hitting people and vehicles, and just last week an Amtrak hit a car in Indiantown.

  • i remember in my dads 49.6 years with the katy 2 with union pacific there was a fatality on the average of 1every 7 years interesting video

  • great catch ted my condolences to the crew and the victim family guess thats a holiday weekend they both want 4get :(

  • @greenbean78 F the victim's family. they should pay restitution to the taxpayers for wasting all of those emergency service, the railroad for lost time and revenue and the crew for emotional damage. Oh and me for wasting 11:25 and not getting to see their mangled loved one.

  • Great video, Ted.

  • Yeah Cory, I read about that incident. It seems to be a growing trend - people using the railroad to end their lives. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thats too bad-

  • It sure is. Instead of catching 226 followed closely by 107 highballing through Hollywood, I got this. :-(

  • sitting on the rail sounds very much like suicide to me, how could it be called anything else, I feel for the train crew

  • I agree, Walter, it appears to be suicide. I too am sympathetic for the two guys forced to witness it happen. They're the real victims here.

  • @pwalpar I have to agree with you

  • 10 police cars for one person hit by train? Must have been a slow night... good video and it is sad someone got hit.

  • Great catch, Ted. Keep up the great videos. L188-04 hit a guy that was on the tracks saturday night so man FEC and CSX both hit a trespasser that day. Thats just crazy.

  • Thanks, Matt. I think Evan told me about that one. I believe he said it was at Cherry. Thanks for commenting.

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to the crew, and to the victims family

  • That is so unfortunate, my condolences as well to the family of the victim.

  • wow that's what you get when you trespass on railroad property

  • Excellent catch, Ted!

  • Very interesting video, Ted. My condolences to the crew and the family of the victim.
