CAN THE ARCHOS 5G DO SOME TEXTING? SMS? I MEAN IT HAS 3G/HSDPA! can it receive and send text messages and calls?

My laptop has 3g/hsdpa usb modem, and i could receive and send calls and messages, so i expect this ARCHOS 5G DOES THAT TOO?

i got archos 5 60gb. it's great except the glare. you have to be in a dark place to watch videos. that part sucks. if this screen is better, i am getting one.

i am gonna dump the one i got on ebay. the screen is so glossy, you got to close all the doors, windows, and then cover yourself in a blanket to watch a video. Archos 5 sucks.

yeah my more-than-a-year-old archos 604 wifi has a mic and speaker...all they need to do is modify it to fit a sim card or something, and sign with some sort of wireless dealer...

hey rethink if you want to buy it or not.

i love going around telling people not to buy archos products because the company is horrible and treats customers horribly. just do a google search. "archos horrible support"

i bought the archos 605 and returned it just like a large number of people did. this company is too small to treat customers properly. if your device is defective, they will blame it on you and make you pay for the fix.

I did not have the same experience.  I sent in my Archos 605 to get the battery repaired about two weeks ago. Instead of repairing it, they sent me a brand new Archos 605. I found customer service to be very pleasant to deal with and I was very happy with the result.

1 last question...If you have tons of MP3 music and movies saved/stored in your archos device memory and then you Archos Crashes and you need to Reset or Restore the device will it loose all your music and files u had saved in it?????

What would you prefere the ARCHOS 5 or the ARCHOS 5g ?? as for me i like Archos 5 because it carries for GB memory, but then it doesent have a SIM CARD slot. What do you think? cause im not sure witch one to buy.

It all depends on how much money they will want for the 3G. You can use 3G service with the Archos 5, but you have to dock it which sucks. But if the 3G is the same price Id buy that.. Although 3G service pricing is through the roof right now. Where I live we don't even have the option for unlimited browsing yet.
