  • They told me that it doesn't come with a seamless undershirt and told me to order one from sugar lips. I would much rather them get one from them but they said it is not included with the brace and I should just use a mens undershirt. I just want to order one before it comes in. Did you use a regular undershirt like the one in the video. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • @ljgwjr1 Ah that's really tough! :( The hospital I went to had seamless undershirts that we bought from them. The one I'm wearing in the vid has seams-- so I guess sugar lips is your best bet then.

  • Do you have any suggestions on what type of shirt to wear underneath the brace. My daughter will be getting her brace in 2 weeks and we have been looking for a seamless body sock. Do you have any recommendations? Do you know anything about sugar lips body socks? What did you wear under the shirt?

  • @ljgwjr1 I haven't heard of sugar-lips body socks. When I got my brace they gave me a cotton seamless undershirt that's specifically designed for boston braces. I'd ask her orthopedist/doctor about it, because I can't imagine they'd expect you to find one on your own. I wish you both luck!

  • sorry this may be too many question but, can u put it on under your clothes? and (hopefully my last question) which do you think is better the boston back brace or the spine core brace? sorry if that was too many questions, when i ask one my mind triggers another.

  • @44PuppyDog Don't worry, the questions are fine! And yup, you wear it under your clothes. In the video I go over some clothing options that work well with Boston Back Braces. As for which one is better, I can't say. I only had the boston back brace, and only know people with Boston Back Braces. I'd say your doctor would know what best works in your case, so I'd go with whatever brace your doctor say. I wore the brace my doctor recommended, and it worked out well. Good luck!

  • @AwakeWithTheDawn all right here comes a new load of questions. Can u sleep in it? (im nervous so thats yu i have all these questions)

  • @44PuppyDog yup you can sleep with it. Read the description box for some tips about it. Once you've been wearing the brace for a while your body molds to it, and everything (including sleeping) is just a lot easier.

  • @AwakeWithTheDawn I know a girl and she has 90. She had surgery and then a brace and people signed it (she was born with really weak muscles though so she is in a wheelchair) thanks for your help with all my questions!!!!!! if I have any more I know who to come to :D

  • @44PuppyDog oh (i think my last question) what are the excersizes? i don't want to have a weak back (i only have to wear it for 16 hours

  • @44PuppyDog Your orthopedist or physical therapist will tell you which exercises to do. Definitely, DEFINITELY do them! I'm having some issues right now because I didn't do mine regularly.

  • @44PuppyDog oh my gosh, that's intense. I hope she's okay!

  • can u bend down while wearing it?

  • @44PuppyDog Kinda. You can't bend down like you do without it. Usually to reach something on the floor I had to go to one knee. But you find out what works after a few tries and then its not a problem.

  • @AwakeWithTheDawn thanks. I have another question. I was looking up pics of it and it looks like it wont allow you to sit down. Can you sit down with it on?

  • @44PuppyDog Yup, not to worry you can sit down with it! Also, its impossible to slouch with it on-- so, better posture! (but you have to do exercises to keep your back strong)

  • @AwakeWithTheDawn phew! i saw pics and i was worrying you couldn't. If you couldn't that would be a total ripoff

  • I just came back from the doctors and he says that at my next appointment (in 6 months) I will probably not need it anymore :D

  • @Emma12403 luckkkyyyy I just came back from the doctor and apparently i need one >:(

im so worried!!!!!!! well now its 7,000,001 ppl in US

  • @Emma12403 That's awesome!!

  • i have been wearing my brace for 4months now and i got the hang of this thing but it feels like i've had it for like a whole year! --" kinda disscouraged here.. :/

  • @Emma12403 It can be tough sometimes, even after you get the hang of it. I know I had days where I literally just wanted to rip off my brace and throw it on the ground. When I felt like that I'd go vent to a friend, or watch TV or listen to music. I'd also remind myself that without the brace I'd be a lot shorter, and probably have a lot more back pain.

It's tough, but you CAN get through it! Good luck :)

  • the website in the description box doesn't work anymore :( i was looking forward to seeing it, haha! i want to get a positive start to my brace, which im getting in a couple days! :) thanks for the video!

  • @emILY528xo ahh you're right, thanks for letting me know! They must have taken down the site :( A positive attitude always helps, so you're off to a good start! Good luck with your brace!

  • I spent 17 years wearing one for 23hrs each day. Words cannot describe how happy I was when I was told I didnt have to wear it any more! Been free of it for 7 years now :)

  • @sgourni Glad you're done :)

  • When am I done with my brace? How do I know I no longer need it? Please I've had it for five years I'm so sick of this XP

  • @FaeriesAndWitches Your doctor will tell you when you don't need your brace anymore. You should ask them for a time estimate. 5 years sounds really tough :( Hopefully you're done soon. Good luck!

  • I just found out uesterday my curve increased 10 one way and 12 the other. I have a 28 on top and a 32 on the bottom. And i have to wear a brace for 2 years. That advice was amazing. Thank you

  • @Sweetnspicy589 Ahh that's really tough :( I'm glad my advice helped. Good luck with your brace and let me know how it goes!

  • We just found out my daughter (age 12) needs a boston brace. We don't know what to expect and you are very encouraging! She will have to wear it for 16-18 hours and I LOVED your video! Did your curve improve with the brace or just not get any worse?

  • @ljgwjr1 My brace prevented my curve from getting any worse, so I'm still at the same curve as when I was diagnosed. But in the years I had the brace I grew about 4 inches, so it was well worth it :) I wish your daughter luck!

  • Thanks for this. My daughter gets hers this month and isn't looking forward to it. Nice to see you turned out just fine.

  • @Mariegilbert12345 Tell her I say good luck! At the time, it seemed like the end of the world, but a month in I realized it was no big deal. Support from friends really helps too.

  • Thx, i just got my brace :()

  • If you need surgery and have questions, please ask me.My curvature was 107 degrees, and after surgery it became 35 degrees. I never had to wear a brace. Please look at my channel! =D

  • @awakewiththedawn I really like this vid. I don't know if I need a brace yet but like you said my friends are curious. Not mean just curious.

  • Heyy! :) I dont know if you remember me but I always use to ask you questions hahaha, I just wanted to let you know I have been wearing my brace all the time now :D my next oppointment is on december 14th I really hope im almost done growing :(

  • @Surfygirl07 No, I remember you! :) I hope that you get good news at your appointment. Let me know if they say you're done with it!

  • i have a back brace that goes from my shoulders to my hips. it's a boston back brace and I hate it! I've had it for 8 months now and I'm really struggling :? but you're very encouraging! :)

  • @keelin1994 Any idea how long you will have it for? What are you struggling with? (Clothes, sleeping, school?) I hope it gets better for you soon!

  • I was supposed to wear my brace for 20 hours, mine is jet black and really sleek, it stops above my butt and there is nothing under my armpit. Yes it is a Boston brace but it's more simple than yours. I actually only wear it ten hours (when I'm sleeping) and I recently got x-rays. I have had it for almost five months and my doctor said I will be out of it in less than nine. I feel lucky.

  • i am going to a place that speculizes in scoliosis so i hopw that that helps otherwise i well have tog et a brace and i really dont want to

  • @luckys49292 Good luck at your appointment!

  • I might have to get a back brace if my spine is any worse. I have an appointment this month to get another x-ray. Hopefully it didn't change at all, like last time ^.^ thanks so much for the vid!! It gave me hope for if I have to get one! :) xx

  • @FreddieRocksForever I hope your appointment goes well for you! Good luck :)

  • @AwakeWithTheDawn Thank you! :) This wednesday! *fingers crossed*

  • @FreddieRocksForever I hope you didn't have to get one! Good luck with everything!

  • @keelin1994 Thanks! It ended up that I have to get one just to wear at night. Sorry it took me a long time to reply, I haven't gotten on in a while.

  • @FreddieRocksForever that's better than 18 hours a day :) it's ok, I've been gone for a while too!
