Back when music was good, people cared about them selves, dressed nice, economy was good. never complained about their problems in songs and they were always happy. damn i wish i was born then!
I always loved Dean Martin...i watched a great old western he did just yesterday...it's called 'Five card stud'...he was a terrific Actor...and a great singer...someone told me his image as a lush was greatly exaggerated...i can believe it because he sure accomplished a lot in his career ...he recorded albums...did several excellent movies...had his own t.v. show ...did the celebrity roasts...what a talent.I love that era of entertainment...Dean was one of the best.
@lightfoot828 His image was highly exaggerated, yes! Frank Sinatra once said "I spill more than he drinks." If he had drunk as much as people thought he did, he'd never have got up in the morning, let alone been the star of a hit show. It was a very effective persona, though. :)
Dino made a lot of Westerns. If you've not seen them yet, try "Rio Bravo" and "The Sons Of Katie Elder". They're particularly good.
woa! this slinky, sleezy tune suits Deano soooo very well. Good backing band makes it tops, otherwise Deano would be 'easy' karaoke, which was about his standard.
@rabblue It's not available anywhere commercially, I'm afraid. It's just a performance that he did once on a TV show. If you want a copy, your best bet is to download it from here.
@eocarcharia Dean did this song often specially in life shows find his london 1983 song yopu can see he is doing life in that show Even on cd yuo can find Greetihngs from netherlands jan oh i love him doing this song too.
@dinovilles Hi. No, as far as I know this isn't available anywhere commercially. I try to only post stuff that isn't. It's lifted from a TV appearance, and I suspect that the quality wouldn't be considered good enough for an official release. A shame, as it seems very popular!
@sixchild19 It's from one of Dino's old TV specials, with guests Frank Sinatra and Mickey Rooney. I doubt you'd find it anywhere legally nowadays (oh for some proper boxsets!), so your best bet is probably to download it from here.
@mouflette48 I think all the oddities that I have are from old radio shows, or sometimes audio recordings of old TV shows. They all tend to be a bit crackly, I'm afraid! I'll keep an eye out for that one, though.

Actually this surpasses Frankie's and Bobby's renditions. Deano has nailed this.
