Thanks for posting this. I actually made the pie crust and used the "baking with pennies" method. It worked great. I have the "Family Baking" book from America's Test Kitchen and love it.
I made it today. The flavor is excellent but it came out a little dense ( maybe it's supposed to be?) I baked it at 300 degrees for one hour and seven minutes and the toothpick came out clean. I will make it again. Fresh whipped cream would make a great topping. It's very much like a pound cake in flavor.

Vanilla wafers taste terrible. Not the way they used to taste long ago. Maybe it would be better to bake your own cookies or find another brand.
