  • It is about time, this train has been cruising Spain for almost five years now. I have traveled from Madrid to Barcelona cruising at top speed of 220 mph back in 2008!! I don't understand why America is taking such a long time to implement what is already a reality in most of Europe, Japan, Russia, China and South Africa.

  • the real transport infrastructure of the future? /watch?v=aIwbrZ4knpg ground-based Transrapid travelling in vacuum tubes at a speed of 3,500 km/h (2,175 mph): From downtown New York to San Francisco city centre in about 1,5 hours.

  • It's not happening anymore :(

  • @gibb1991 I know that, I live near Dover, but I was just commenting on how rubbish the trains can be sometimes

  • @gtvnetwork Southeastern is completely different to other high speed services - mainly because it is only on the high speed line for 30 mins and the top speed for these are 140mph, but Eurostar take advantage of being on the High speed lines for the whole journey from London to Pairs/Brussels has 186mph/300km/h as the top speed and is really good - its far better than flying. Southeastern is just plagued with bad luck.

  • Why am I drawing similarities between this and futuristic predictive vids from the 1950s?

  • @MikeFolf you are aware, that those trains already connect european cities for years ?

  • @pixartist I have been aware. In fact, I rode on one of these a few years back.

I'm just being nostalgic. :-) and the 'futuristic predictive vids' was a rather obscure Disneyland reference (Carousel of Progress, House of the Future, Monorail, et all). I thought it would make sense as this vid was posted by someone who posts vids of ex-disney attractions, and the fact that I'm a Disney fan myself.

  • Hate to break it to you America but over here in Britain we got the Japanese hitachi javelin (bullet trains thiner sister) train a year ago now. But dependable, don't be daft, this is British rail.

  • @gtvnetwork I think you mean Southeast Railway Company. British Rail was privatized and broken down years ago and all of Britain's railway operators are now private companies.

  • No speeding tickets no getting behind the wheel for some of the people and no leaving the ground. and no breaking down on the road with 3 reflectors triangle. and no weather delay. and it travels 3 times faster than Greyhound bus, thats the great advantage of high speed train.
