Nobody was saying the Jap voices are wrong - I was saying the AMERICAN version was wrong. Anyway, I think that not all American voices are 'wrong' - only when the casting director is particularly moronic. Like casting Brock as Gourry and makign Amelia not sound annoying or JUSTICE-y.
Agree with most, except Ameila and Zelgadiss for the American. Amelia just sounds like a princess who gets rescued all the time.
And Zelgadis? Never. EVER. Diss Zel's English voice. Crispin Freeman is the one saving grace of the American show! A god of voice acting! If Steve Blum had been in this dub? Oh, it would have been worth watching the horridness just for their voice~
However, as I realize you were talking about the Polish dub (I think...?), I'll finish my rant here ^^
Well, no... I was quoting an article about american dub on polish site about Slayers. Polish version of Slayers is just a voice of a reader with japanese seyiuu talking in the background. (by the way, the translation is probably the most terrible I've ever heard. Even fans do better that those who worked on Slayers polish version)
All I can say from myself, that voices in dub by Software Sculptors are not bad, but they ARE wrong for roles they're playing in this anime.
Aaah and by the way, Software Sculptors is a part of company that made AMERICAN dubbing of Slayers. Forgot to mention that. Probably that was source of the confusion ;)
And I agree with you. Except Zelgadiss - his voice saves this Anime. *shrug* But, then, that's my opinion. The acting is very good... but it's wrong for the characters ^^
I don't like the dubbed version that they have here. The dialogue sucked.

Hehehe... On one polish Slayers fansite someone described voices of actors in that dubbing made by Software Sculptors:
Lina - mean slut (?)
Gourry - most american of american accents
Amelia - slightly drunk brat (O_o)
Zelgadis - 60 year old sclerotic teacher
Xelloss - well... virtuosity of tragic. He sounds like total moron...
To sum up - voices in english, are not fitting characters too well...

@ThinBear4 Software Sculptors had a better cast of voice actors compared to the other divisions of U.S. Manga Corps.
