I see alot of confused people here... David Belle was NOT the inventor of parkour, he just came up with the name, and trained alot. He got inspired from the courses that military used to train soldiers, like his dad.

That's correct, David Belle didn't invent it alone. The Yamakasi group, including David and Seb did it.

The Yamakasi created the method of training. They created the philosophy behind the movement, the ideas and principles behind it combining elements of running, jumping, climbing, and the dicipline from martial arts the the philosophy from Georges Hérberts methode naturelle.

Without them, parkour would just be movement, like tricking for instance.
