As much as I agree that these performances, with a couple exceptions, really SUCK, that is not why Sly left the stage. These days people are lucky to get 20 minutes of stage time from Sly then he leaves with an excuse ..... I have to piss ..... I woke up this morning and found out I am old, I need a break .... or whatever else. As bad as all the other performances were, his was no better,. Even his keys were poor. Too Bad to have to see a legend and one time inspiration of mine like that.

I'm a huge Sly fan, but he did blow every verse cue during this performance. I beleive he left the stage because he couldn't recover. I don't know half of these other hacks, but thier interpretations of his music seem to lack one element: Soul.

So true. That's exactly what I was thinking. Will I. Am was more interested in 'reinterpreting Sly' than doing a tribute. I think Aerosmith did the best, have to get Tyler credit for trying to save the set when Sly walked off - Everyday People was completely horrible. The tribute sounded like it was produced by Sid and Marty Krofft. Completely lacking funk or drive.

All time worst grammy tribute. Sly is a living legend, and this did no justice to him and his music. I do love Robert Randolph, but what business did any of these other people have being on that stage. (Aside from the family stone). Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are Grammy tribute whores.
