I hate when people say homosexuality is wrong because it isnt "normal" to be gay. I am 6'5", a larger ammount of the population is gay than is 6'5 plus. Should they chop my feet off?

Give me a break. Most, if not all, of the goals of the gay marriage movement could be satisfied in the absence of gay marriage. If we are going to consider acknowledging gay marriage, then the definition of marriage itself would need to change. Keep in mind that if we are going to consider changing what marriage means, then we also are opening the door to other forms of marriage too such as group marriage. Just my 2 cents.

The bible doesn't state that marriage is between a man and a woman but it does state that it is sinful to touch the skin of a pig. Ever play football? It is implied in the bible that while husbands are away at war their wives sleep together, yes sexually. It was approved at that time.
There are plenty of things I hate. But do I parade the streets and vote against other people's rights to enjoy things I don't enjoy? No. Nobody is forcing you to marry a member of the same sex, so what's the problem? If other people want to, isn't that their decision? Why should you have a say in other people's relationships? Parents are the primary educators who provide a balance of nurture by both genders for socialization with both sexes.

Give me a break. Most, if not all, of the goals of the gay marriage movement could be satisfied in the absence of gay marriage. If we are going to consider acknowledging gay marriage, then the definition of marriage itself would need to change. Keep in mind that if we are going to consider changing what marriage means, then we also are opening the door to other forms of marriage too such as group marriage. Just my 2 cents.

Legislating that a gay couple in love who want to marry may not do so is bigotry EXACTLY like the laws which forbade marriage to an interracial couple in love who wanted to marry back before those laws were struck down as unconstitutional - because those laws violated the civil rights of the couples in question.
Recognition of gay marriage confers upon the partners the LEGAL RIGHTS to things like health care, etc. that they would otherwise be denied.

As for the "basic civil liberty" of marriage, these are already restricted. Don't imagine for a second that it is not in Society's best interest to regulate such things... we have done for centuries. They were made for partners who would make decisions on a joint basis, and to be treated by the government and private institutions on a joint basis. Death benefits, estate benefits, employment benefits etc.
For families with children, there are extra provisions and benefits. Depending on states, some homosexual couples can adopt children also.
You are no more affected in your taxes by infertile hetero couples or hetero childless couples by choice than you are by homosexual couples.
