I think you are confusing our church with the FLDS church. We do not practice polygamy anymore, and child abuse in any form can result in x-communication, as so can the practice of polygamy. you can not hold a whole church accountibal for one messed up person i am sorry about your friend but the father definetly does not reflect the church in any way and he would have been excommunicated.

The LDS church has a much nicer way of teaching than the Jehovas Witnesses who use fear and religous blackmail AKA "follow our religion or your not gonna go to heaven and u will burn"

Jehovah's witnesses do not believe in people going to heaven, and they do not believe in hell either...

just to let you know latter day saints do believe you can go to heaven, there are no Jahovah's witnesses but there are missionaries
